I have a B.Sc. in computer science, then switched to Molecular Biophysics. I took a course in Quantum Mechanics which used a book that was just perfect for me (and probably all those who are not physicists): Quantum Chemistry, by Ira Levine. What I think it's great about this book is that, before each chapter he gives an intro about all math tools you'll need. Is there a book with the same approach, but for Statistical Mechanics?...more
