My latest favorite series that fits that description is Phoenixcry by K.T. Strange, which involves a werewolf rock band and their witch manager (mfmmmm).

I tend to write personal reviews. Meaning I drop in tidbits that wouldn't necessarily be good in professional reviews. Comparison to other books, to music, to my life in general.
I also write as if the audience is over 18, which means I will likely mention adult content if the book contains adult content.

I should explain my rating system, as it appears skewed a bit on the high side (as compared to the tool tips that Goodreads provides).
So, overall, 4-5 stars is recommended, 3 stars is decent, and anything less is a suggestion to avoid.

My formula for a good book or series:
I love character centric. I love sophisticated world building. I love fairly large casts of characters. I love open ended series that follow the same individuals rather than jumping from "couple" to "couple". I love unique worlds and walk off the page characters. I love a bit of humor, a bit of romance, a bit of mystery, and a bit of suspense in every book, no matter what genre.

I decided to rate many of the books I didn't read or didn't finish. The exclusive shelves make it clear that these books weren't read.
The reason I wanted to rate them anyway is that I don't want them used in the automated recommendation system, and when comparing books with other users an unrated book shows up the same as an unread book. In most cases, these were books I bought, but couldn't bring myself to read, so I don't find the 2 star "disliked" rating to be misleading....more
