I think you're thinking about the Italian Professor, Christa was his lover and so when he told her that he met Gabriel's fiancé she was curious to find out who this fiancé was...after digging she found out it was Julia he was with..the favor you're thinking about was that the Italian Professor wanted to rekindle his affair with Christa in replacement for the info she wanted...basically she'll swap sex for it. Christa was just vindictive she didn't want anyone to have Gabriel because she couldn't. Hope that helpsssss.

christa is mad cause she cant gabriel in bed with her and she has her suspicions that something is going on bewtween gabriel and julia cause of the way he is always there for her and defending her against everyone. they only reasons she knows anything is from the italian professor that she was sleeping with

Yes, I just finished this and it seemed that nothing came of Julia's counterclaim against her for harrassment; the university just decided to ignore it altogether.
