WhatShouldIRead Will there be any more MS book buddy reads? I am finally reading MWYT and am about 2/3s way through. Am finding it hard to put this book down!

I have a bunch of her books that I haven't read yet so was just curious if there were plans to read more??

I would like to read more.

Misfit | 587 comments Isn't she fun?

I have Stormy Petrol kicking around somewhere at home, but I put a big dent in her back-list a couple of years ago. There's still the cottage books, The Ivy Tree, Airs Above the Ground, Thunder on the Right and This Rough Magic on my list. Library has them, so just need a few days heads up to get a hold placed and picked up.

Anyone else?

haha - she's got you hooked, too!

Count me in for more MS buddy reads. I either have (or can probably get from the library) any MS book we decide on. I would say let's not read Thunder on the Right though - it's really weak.

I'll suggest Nine Coaches Waiting, or Thornyhold

message 6: by Willow (new)

Willow Sure, I'll do another Mary Stewart buddy read. The last one was a lot of fun. :D

I actually have Nine Coaches Waiting on my book shelf and I've been eyeing it for a while now. But I know that Hannah has already read it, so we can pick something else. :)

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

It's hard to find one that Hannah or Misfit, or both, haven't read!

I know! LOL
The only one I've read is MWYT. So whichever book you ladies pick is fine by me. I'm sure I can get it through the inner library program.

message 9: by SarahC (new)

SarahC (sarahcarmack) | 9 comments I would like to also. I will follow with any suggested.

I've read them all, but it's been a while. You girls settle on one, and I'll jump in!

And if anyone ever finds a copy of The Wind off the Small Isles - let me know! It's the only one I can't locate (it was published in a woman's magazine waaay back).

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

Several copies out there for $50!

Hannah (hannahr) | 405 comments Jeannette wrote: "Several copies out there for $50!"

Exactly - what a hoot!

Oh no - I just ordered this book through paperbackswap! Oh well, at least it can be added to the collection.

The only books I've read lately by MS are Thornyhold, The Ivy Tree, MWYT and Wildfire at Midnight. But really I'm game for any book!

How did you decide before which to read? A poll?

message 14: by [deleted user] (new)

Hannah wrote: "Jeannette wrote: "Several copies out there for $50!"

Well, I didn't mention the $1100 copies! Too bad I didn't hoard all those copies of Redbook from the 1970s my mother read. lol

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

We haven't done a poll as yet. So far we have two votes for Nine Coaches Waiting. :)

message 16: by Shelley (new)

Shelley | 34 comments This Rough Magic is my favorite MS novel, though Airs Above the Ground is a close second, maybe because I love the circus.

Hannah (hannahr) | 405 comments Shelley wrote: "This Rough Magic is my favorite MS novel..."

This one would be my vote - probably because of the dolphin (love that dolphin)
:)

My library has it, AND Misfit hasn't read it!

Misfit | 587 comments What ever you ladies decide on is fine with me.

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

So, it looks like This Rough Magic or Nine Coaches Waiting.

What do you think Susan, Willowfaerie?

message 21: by Lorraine (new)

Lorraine (saanichlori) | 31 comments I've had This Rough Magic on my "to re-read" list for several years now, so I'd prefer that one, but Nine Coaches Waiting is also very good.

message 22: by WhatShouldIRead (new)

WhatShouldIRead Well, I guess I'm not going to help with the decision - both sound equally wonderful! And I believe I have a copies...

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

Let's see what Willow has to say. If she can get This Rough Magic, I'm in!

message 24: by SarahC (new)

SarahC (sarahcarmack) | 9 comments i have This Rough Magic on my shelf.

message 25: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (hannahr) | 405 comments Sounds like it might be "Rough" - horay!

message 26: by Willow (new)

Willow Sure, Rough Magic sounds good to me. It may take me a couple of weeks to get a hold of a copy.

message 28: by [deleted user] (last edited Feb 05, 2013 07:27PM) (new)

Weekend after Valentine's Day, February 15, would work for me. :) Or, later, to wait for Willow. :) I'll go place my hold request.

message 29: by Willow (new)

Willow Yes, if I get my book, I think I could start the weekend after Valentine's Day. :D

message 40: by Misfit, Moderator (new)

Misfit | 587 comments I'll need it. There's always the library, but I'd hate to waste resources if there's one on a shelf somewhere.

Laura,
That would be fine. We'll all be reading at our own pace, so I'm sure there will be others still reading at that time. Glad you can join in!
