What should our SUMMER books be?
The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt and The art of Fielding by Chad Harbach. Certainly books that have resided on my tbr for too long.
Pride and prejudice (Been on my TBR and I'm sure others for a loooong time...)Fight Club (Movie is epic but who has read the book?)
I'd suggest Speak, The Outsiders, More Than This, and Matched. All I should definitely have read by now.
Oh I would love to read The Knife of Never Letting Go! It's been on my tbr for several years...! I'll Give You the Sun is a cute contemporary book that I have wanted to read for a long time, and so is Eleanor and Park, Since You've Been Gone and any of Sarah Dessen's books :)
I've read two of Sarah's books before, and they just give me such summer feelings
I also agree on The Knife of Never Letting Go and I'll Give You the Sun. And for a Sarah Dessen, I still somehow haven't read The Truth About Forever.
Note: Be sure to look through the suggestions above yours and to second any that look interesting!
I second Pride and Prejudice, Speak, and The Outsiders.
I second The Outsiders! Other books that came to mind:
Anything but Typical by Nota Raliegh Baskin,
The History of Love by Nicole Krauss,
Say Goodnight Gracie by Julia Reece Denver. :)
The Secret History by Donna TarttThe Peculiar Sadness of Lemon Cake by Aimee Bender
The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery
I'm a fan of hefty tomes, obviously.
I should really have read The Scorch Trials, since the movie is out soon. But since that's the second book of a serie, maybe The Maze Runner is a better pick? Also An Abundance of Katherines
I second The 5th Wave! I only read it myself at the beginning of this month and loved it. The writing itself is gorgeous and the characters are brilliant.
Just seen on your channel but I have been meaning to read 'me and earl and the dying girl' by Jesse Andrews. Also I second 'Eleanor and Park' by Rainbow Rowell.

I've been meaning to read The Bell Jar for almost two years now, but I second The Knife of Letting Go and The Outsiders.
I second the 5th wave and the knife of never letting go. A few other suggestions to add to the mix are The Lighting Thief, The Princess Bride, or The Casual Vacancy.
Seconding The Knife of Never Letting Go and Eleanor and Park. I'd like to add Anna and the French Kiss and The Giver.
I second The Handmaid's Tail and The Casual VacancyI'd also like to add The Cuckoos Calling, The Book Thief, and The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

The Goldfinch
The 5th Wave
The Bell Jar
I'll Give You the Sun
Fight Club
I would love to read "uglies" by Scott Westerfeld and "to all the boys i've loved before" by Jenny Han
Oohhh I love the bell jar! What about "To Kill a Mockingbird" since the sequel comes out this summer?
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, The Virgin Suicides by Jeffrey Eugenides and (although I've already read this one) Paper Towns by John Green since everyone should read or re-read it before the movie comes out in July!
I second 5th Wave, Throne of Glass, The Virgin Suicides, Paper Towns and the Casual Vacancy! And I would like to add City of Bones, Outlander and The Cider House Rules.
I second "The Casual Vacancy" and "Eleanor and Park", both books I've been meaning to read for ages.I've also had "Just Listen" by Sarah Dessen on my shelf for far too long.
I second "The Casual Vacancy", "Stardust" and "The Knife of Never Letting Go".Other books I'd like to read are "The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer" and "The Bone Season". I have had both of them for way too long without reading them!
The knife of never letting go, which I just happened to buy a copy of yesterday (what timing), and The Handmaid's Tale and I'll give you the sun.
Seconding The Knife of Never Letting Go, The Handmaid's Tale, Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, Uglies and The Outsiders.Suggesting Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel (as other BookTubers love this book) and We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson
I second the to kill a mocking bird and Sarah dessen. really should have read her by now but I never got around to it.
I actually feel like I've read a lot of these, but I would be up for re-reading most of them. I second these ones:
The Knife of Never Letting Go
The Fifth Wave
The Bone Season
Sarah Dessen
and would also like to suggest Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children because dang I need to read that!
The Casual VacancyThe Maze Runner
I'd love to read The Giver or To Kill A Mockingbird because I haven't read them since high school (this would also give me an excuse to buy tkamb to have in my "teacher library")

We're already going to read Stardust together, and I'd like to pick 2-3 more to read together in JUNE, JULY and AUGUST. Then we'll pick a new selection of books for Fall.
Everyone suggest a few books (for a category let's go with "books we should have read by now") and I'll pick the most popular ones to be our summer group reads.
My other suggestions with be:
-The 5th Wave
-The Knife of Never Letting Go
