I've started & finished my first book, while keeping half an eye on the rugby (3 all at half time). In all honesty it was about as in depth as Peter & Jane (although it was Adam & Chloe) and very large type. Like seriously, 18 point. My granny would have loved it. Now I know why the librarian looked at me very strangely when I picked it up.

It physically was 300 pages, but really that can only have been ~ 100 if they'd used proper sized print! And was tissue paper thin.

I am going to place this book as "Words of Love". While they were looking for love through the lonely hearts column in a paper, the main characters changed their appearance, suffered insecurities and corresponded by letters trying to advertise their finer points to one another.

I am 79 pages into Birdsong so far. I am enjoying it but it's not an easy book to read. Have already reached the hot sex scenes! They could give Fifty Shades a run for their money!

Hopefully without the terrible dialogue ;-). But then again, I'm sure Sebastian Faulks has a much better way with words.

I haven't read it, and based on the synopsis....

I think that the best fit will be Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Yeah Yeah Read a book where someone does something extreme in the name of love or lust. This can be awe-inspiring or disturbing.

might fit as well.

Sharon - there's no doing it wrong. As long as you can tell us why you think a book fits a certain task, that works.

The Song of Achilles could fit several tasks. Crazy Little Thing Called Loved works (view spoiler)[because of Patroclus' actions when he pretended to be Achilles and all the ways each tried to protect the other (hide spoiler)], and even though it's not a YA book, I'll accept it for First Love since they are teens when they fall in love and it is a first and only love for each of them. You can choose either task.

Lol. The dialogue is much better in Birdsong. It has more of a storyline too ;-)

Finally finished Chance Encounter. You'll like it if you like such descriptive words as hot, hard, sexy, wet, throbbing, aroused...well you get the picture :D But I have to say, the ending was a bucket of cold water, when Ally said "I hope we're making a baby.", YUCK!

Hi everyone! Noon EST was 1 a.m. in Manila, so I only got in a little bit of reading before bed. I'm doing
as my first book for this challenge. (Conveniently, it's also my Fruitcake challenge book!) So far it's a quick, easy read. Hope to finish it today.

It is fun to read about someone going to bed, and thinking but it's only 4pm, and then realizing that they're in a different time zone far, far away :)

I made it through my first book! It wasn't pretty, but I did it. Sooooo happy to be moving onto the next one.

I have read 41% (208 pages) of Birdsong. It's a great book but it's pretty long, only another 300 pages to go!

It's a little hard reading the Norton book because it makes me think about how special Lucy was, but I'm enjoying. Thanks for the tip about the 3rd book.

The Mudslide coffee was awesome. Now we are slightly tipsy from Witches Brew wine.
