I use Kindle application for my mobile phone (together with Moon Reader), so you may expect posts from me in that field, but if you use Nook or any other application or reader, or you rather prefer paperback books, feel free to post your findings here!

Let's clarify -- books may be electronic and paperback, in any language, free or offered at low price, but must be books made into movies .

P.S. These offers are usually valid for short time, so check this thread frequently if you do not wish to miss some :)

Jessica (jessdreadingthedayaway) I would recommend the website www.tuebl.ca

It has heaps of books for free, though you may need to download an application such as calibre to convert the books to the right format!

message 6: by Zeljka (new)

Zeljka (ztook) | 3005 comments Mod
Thanks Jessica! I already downloaded two books that interested me at the moment. I wonder only is there a catch :)

message 7: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (jessdreadingthedayaway) At this stage I havent noticed one, you dont have to sign up or provide any personal details so there is no bombardment with emails or anything like that.
As long as your happy to take the time to convert the files to the right format (which is easy with calibre which is also free) it seems pretty good to me :)

I thought like yourself till I was bought a kindle as a gift and it is fantastic no books laying round all stored in one area and you don't loose your place if your book mark falls out it remembers where you last read to, I love books and it is a convenient way to read for me especially as I am on the go and it is great to take with me and have lots and lots of books with me I would recommend getting one

I personally love to read paperbacks and even hardbacks. I even have a room full of books I have no shelf to put them on, but the advantage of ebooks is immense. Except these obvious ones Sue mentioned (easier and convenient read wherever you are, bookmarking and highlighting quotes without harming the books themselves etc), some books I simply wish to read without having them around afterwards, especially if I do not feel I would like them that much. For that it's great to use local library, but mine doesn't have many items I wish to read so I turned my head towards ebooks.

Riders of the Purple Sage With Earbuds by Zane Grey Oh and I forgot the action currently taking place: Downpour is this week offering an audiobook narrated by Mark Bramhall, Riders of the Purple Sage by Zane Grey for free. Not that I am acquainted with narrators' quality in audiobook sphere, but seems tempting enough, especially as I recall one lovely adaptation of this book, starring Ed Harris, Amy Madigan and Henry Thomas.

Somehow the most tempting offers I find lately are mostly audiobooks.
This time it is The Prince and the Pauper by Mark Twain The Prince and the Pauper, narrated by Steve West - it is offered for free this week only by SYNC as part of their YA & Classic Audiobooks Summer Programme.

Ashley (Dina0221) | 28 comments Yea i love the feel of actual books . But i was running out of room so i bought a kindle . I found that on fridays you can get a book for a 1.99 and sometimes popular books of the moment range from 6.99 and up ( like silver linings and walking disaster) . So it kinda works out but i miss the feel and smell of a library book the most. I also read actuals books faster.

Unique (while it lasts though) offer on Amazon for Houghton Mifflin Harcourt's Reissue Edition of The Man in the High Castle by Philip K. Dick The Man in the High Castle by Philip K. Dick - it's on sale today for 1,99 USD or less, depending where are you from.

Let me remind you, earlier this year it was said (i.e. in Variety) that SyFy's going to make a TV series with Ridley Scott as the executive director. It may take a year or more before anything comes of this announcement, but still...

But if you like her work or have kids that might like it, here's chance to buy it.
