For November 2013, this month's theme is:

Christmas

Rules:
1. Nominations are open until the 14th of the month. I will let us know which book has "won" on the 15th.
2. Books must be Christian fiction, or "clean" fiction to be eligible for this read.
3. Books are chosen using Random.org to make it completely fair.
4. One nomination per person. If two people nominate the same book, each person's vote counts. So the book will feature twice in the list to give each vote an equal chance.
5. Books must be the first in a series unless we have read the previous book.
6.The following books are not eligible because we have read them in past years.

Christmas Mail-Order Brides Four Mail-Order Brides Travel the Transcontinental Railroad in Search of Love by Susan Page Davis A Log Cabin Christmas 9 Historical Romances during American Pioneer Christmases by Wanda E. Brunstetter The Doctor's Christmas by Marta Perry The Bridge by Karen Kingsbury

Nominations so far:
1. White Christmas Pie by Wanda E. Brunstetter (Janice)
2. Call Me Mrs. Miracle by Debbie Macomber (Kate)
3. A Redbird Christmas by Fannie Flagg ( Brittany)
4. Plantation Christmas Weddings: Four-in-One Romance Collection by Sylvia Barnes (Natalie)
5. A Riverwalk Christmas: Four Couples Find Love in Romantic San Antonio by Kathleen Y'Barbo (Melissa)

Natalie (creativecountry0407gmailcom) | 1132 comments @Lorie: Do you prefer if we've read the book we nominate so it's easier for everyone to discuss or would it be better if it's a true group read where no ones read it beforehand? Just want to be clear this up so I don't waste my nomination.

Natalie (creativecountry0407gmailcom) | 1132 comments @Lorie: Would you prefer the books(s) we nominate to be a certain number of pages or can the be novellas?

Natalie I do not think there has ever been a certain number of pages. We have read a few short books and a few long ones.

I also don't think we have ever said it has to be a book you have not read, if you really liked a book and thought the group would too, I see no reason why you can not nominate it.

Natalie (creativecountry0407gmailcom) | 1132 comments @Loire: Ok. Thanks. Will you have a new theme for December or can we still nominate holiday-type books if they go with the theme?

Also, I am not saying this against anyone, we just have never had a rule for this, but if both book reads have the same theme, like Christmas, maybe we should have a rule that you can not pick the same book for both reads. That away we do not end up reading the same book for both reads? I wonder what your feelings are on this?

Rachel Brand (pixieauthoress) According to Random.org, next month's group read will be...

2. Call Me Mrs. Miracle by Debbie Macomber!

Thanks for nominating, Kate :) I read this book a while back and it's a pretty sweet story.

I will post soon. I have been in the hospital with my son all week and just got an e-mail from Diane about doing it. So give me a little while thanks!

So sorry to hear about your son being in the hospital. I pray that all is well with him.
