Frank and Claire, 1945...

*How cute is our Claire :)

*Jenny giving it to Jamie - I cannot wait to see this on film *Yay*

*Sam aka Jamie *swoon*

Sam really is swoon worthy.
The cast is pure gold! I'm so excited!!

Leea, it's so true. Sam=Jamie for me as well. I never believed it would be possible, but it is. I have this feeling he's going to light up the screen. I think I'll faint when it premiers in March.
I'm verra impatient to see who they cast as Ian Mòr. I love his character so much!!

LOL I will catch you if you catch me

Again, don't want to rush through the holidays and such, but........

(Sam as Jaime is absolute perfection though)
I've always pictured Claire much prettier. Also, she's too tall standing next to Sam. If I remember correctly Claire is about 5'6" and Jaime is well over 6'3", right?? Her head always fit perfectly in the hallow in his chest when they stood next to each other.

Other than that, she's about perfect for me. She's pretty close to what I pictured. Especially in the images above with 'Frank'.

Also, she's always described to have delicate "French" facial features and I think her nose is too big. I think I just always had an image of a petite Kate Beckinsale in my head with crazy, curly "Noxzema girl" hair.
I know I'm just being picky and am sure my opinion will change once I see her bring Claire to life on screen : )

I do agree with you about the height, but since most aspects are nearly perfect for me I can overlook it.

That being said, I am cool with whatever Ron and Starz create and cannot wait for the series to start!

I think size is important but I think with the series it will be how the 2 act together and the emotion that they can emit on screen. To me that is more important than to have them of specific heights. As long as she is shorter than him by some degree I am good :) I will be to busy Oogling and Drooling.

I am 5'2 " and my husband is 6'3" so I guess that is exactly why I would like to see a bigger difference in their height - I envision it when I read about it. Diana is significantly shorter than her husband that is why she writes that so well. Over all though, I think it is much more important for Jamie to be taller than most of the other cast than the difference between Claire and Jamie. That will not make much of a difference when the story is shown. Besides since Claire is "moderen" she would likely be taller than most women of the 1700's so it will blend in with the story.

I think Jamie's height is extremely important to the story. It is mentioned countless times throughout the books and it factors into how situations play out repeatedly. He can be comparable in height to the MacKenzie clan, but very few others. As for Claire, she needs to be shorter than Jamie (by at least 6" in my opinion), but taller than other women we see. Again, it is mentioned repeatedly in books how she has to look up to talk to Jamie. I think the two lead actors are too close in height, but I'm sure they'll still make it work. Hopefully they keep all of this in mind as they continue to cast other people for the show.

Even so, these 2 look great together. And it *is* mentioned many times that Claire was tall for a woman, especially women in the 1700s. I think S and C look great together, and I can't wait to see them as Jamie and Claire.
While I'm not sure I'd say that C looks French, but she's got the right look. If Diana G is happy, then I am, too!
THANK YOU for the updated cast pix and associated character names. Sometimes it's tough to keep the face and the character straight.

I read that post when DG first wrote it and I loved her all the more for it! The fact that Sam won Herself over made me never question it anymore. Same thing for Cait. I trust her opinion implicitly since she's the one who created the characters. I'm not trepidatious at all. It's going to be amazing!
I teared up, too, Wendy! :)
I had my doubts. Doubts gone now.

OMG! OMG! OMG! I'm like a 14 year old teenager - No words ladies... no words! Just imagine me with a super grin :)

Same here!! It was amazing!

Also, I'm VERY happy with the actress who has been cast as Claire; she has that "spunky" look about her that is so important to her character!

That just made my Friday afternoon :)
and Im with you Jen, some of the negativity on FB is driving me nuts!!
But their loss, they will too busy complaining about hair colour, body hair, & nose length to enjoy what we know is going to be an AMAZING show.
CANT WAIT!!! :) Good Lord I am turning into my 14 year old niece the one direction fan, I am going to have to stop teasing her about being all fangirly LOL
