Ms Wells shared that the audiobook versions are half price right now at Tantor. I have the audiobook through Audible, but haven't listened to say anything about the narrator.
I will join, bought it already a year ago, perfect to finally get to it. Has anyone read any other book by her? And if yes did you like it?
I've read The Element of Fire, last month's group read, City of Bones and also the Raksura trilogy which is outstanding.
I have City of Bones as well, I totally overlooked that we read a book by her last month already - have to add raksura trilogy to mount tbr
I will join too. I'm almost finished with my current book it plan to start this book in a day or two.

Helen wrote: "I enjoyed last month's but it's my least favourite of the ones I've read."Yes, The Element of Fire was much less polished. I used to like it more, but as her writing has improved, I have found it harder to get into when I pick it up again.
Margret wrote: "FYI not a huge fan of the audio narrator, so if left with a choice I would read it in print."I started listening to the audiobook last night and agree with you. She sounds more like she's reading a religious text rather than a novel.
It's really too bad because I've been put off the book now, I probably won't want to try reading it for a long time. I think it will be much better played out with the voices in my own head ;)
I read The Death of the Necromancer and I found it an excellently plotted page turner with a fascinating subject matter (necromancers!)
I'm close to being finished with Wheel of the Infinite and I love the (west?) Asian-esque setting and the unusual plot line. The religion and tying in of the spirit world is interesting, and I just reached a part that became uncanny valley in a really cool way. There were some slow parts in the middle but I just reached a fascinating turn that's keeping me reading.

Started this earlier, it's great. I'm supposed to be sleeping but I don't want to put it down! I don't know what's happening in a really interesting sort of way!
I finished listening to/reading this book last night. It's been several years since I first read it, and the last third is different from how I recall. That may be due to my mind mixing things up with other books I've read, though.Maskelle is a great character--haunted by her past, yet willing to help strangers. And Rien is a great hero--smart and talented, something of a fish out of water, yet still strong in character.
I was just thinking that I was looking forward to bedtime to read this.
I'll meet you on the finished thread really really soon!
