It depends on what you want to read about. If you just want to know more about the philosophy and symbolism of the Rite, you need the Scottish Rite Ritual Monitor & Guide, published by the Mother Supreme Council at Washington, DC. If you want to know more about the history of the Supreme Council, I'd recommend Lodge of the Double-Headed Eagle, by William L. Fox. If you want to read and understand the book Morals and Dogma of the A. & A. Scottish Rite, then you should get the annotated version, titled Albert Pike's Morals and Dogma – Annotated Edition. If your focus is the three craft lodge degrees, find the book titled Symbolism of the Blue Degrees of Freemasonry: Albert Pike's Esoterika, published by the Scottish Rite Research Society in 2005.
