When Peter Wimsey has a relapse of "shellshock" in Whose Body?, do you think it's a real flashback episode, or is he faking? Would he fake it to Bunter, to be more convincing? Or was it brought on by the tension and the awareness of who the killer was?

For what purpose would he be faking it? Only Bunter knows about it. Is he trying to impress Bunter?
A further reading of subsequent stories in the series would give you the answer to your question.
