What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

I'm looking for a sci-fi alien romance about a human who gets involved with multiple partners with multiple arms and their different colors there's really only one scene I remember from the book it's been a couple years since I read it so bear with me.

They are in a village or castle a storm is coming in and a man who is deeply important to her is stuck outside the shield the wind and sun is burning him and hurting him and he's trying to make it to the castle the girl is screaming for someone to go get him and a man with multiple arms is holding her back they have to wait for him to get close enough before they can get him they finally lower the shield run out grab him he's severely hurt not sure if he lives or not and I'm not sure if this is book two in the series I'm feeling like it maybe is.

It sounds like the second book in the Penelope Fletcher series, where 2 of the main characters from the first book are outside the shield and the heroine from book 1 is screaming for someone to get them.
