In the end, LaRivièra murders the other three men in an attempt to save himself but gets killed by Sebastian. The truth behind their deaths and crimes will never be disclosed. Did Nicholas get his justice?

Jo Ann (jojog) | 72 comments On one hand, no. Legally, he went to his death punished for a crime he didn't commit. But on the other hand, there was justice of the heart. The woman he had always loved will now raise the child he had come to love.
I need someone to write a fanfic version where Hayes lives and finds his way back to Katherine.

Lol! That would be a story I’d read.

Hayes found his own justice. He made peace with himself, turning his life around completely. He could have easily turned bitter and sought revenge but chose not to.

There was something poetic about those complicit in framing Nicholas ending up being killed by one of their partners in crime and Sebastian ending his life with a simple dagger.

Jo Ann (jojog) | 72 comments Some things about Hayes background reminded me of the hero in Whispers of Heaven (by C S Harris writing under name Candice Proctor).

Joanna | 139 comments No. He will never get those wasted years back.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 242 comments No. In addition to everything that happened in his past, he died worrying about Ji's safety. This is one of those times when I wish Hayes was kept alive to see that Katherine took Ji.
