What book have you read about forgetting?

I plan to read The Giver by Lois Lowry.

Would highly recommend any of these three:

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue
Still Alice
Recursion

I am planning on either We Were Liars or What Alice Forgot.

I’ve just finished Suzanna Clarke’s Piranesi. I started the book not knowing which prompt it would cover but it actually fits this one perfectly 😊

I just finished Home Before Dark by Riley Sager and I think it qualifies for this category.

I am using The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood to fit this category. I feel that the story paints the image that society is to forget the past in order to make way for a bizarre present/future.

Just finished “The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue” for this category. Very compelling narrative; the ending made me cry!

I have also written a book with a character with amnesia, but I'm not sure if it's OK to post here (don't want to be salesy). It is free though!

I'm not sure what book to read for this one yet, but I would like to suggest The Sudden Appearance of Hope (Claire North) if anyone needs a "book about forgetting" --- Hope has a condition that means no one can remember her / everyone forgets her as soon as they leave her presence. What would *you* do if no one ever remembered you?

I've chosen 'What Alice Forgot' by Liane Moriarty for my book about forgetting.

Ooh, that Claire North one sounds really good. I thought of another one - We Could Be Heroes by Mike Chen. It will be out later this month!

I read Siri, Who Am I? by Sam Tschida for this one. It's about a girl who wakes up in the hospital and cannot remember anything about her life. She uses her phone, social media, and new friend Max to help her try to piece together who she is. It can also fit the "a book with something broken on the cover" prompt, since the cover is designed to resemble a cracked Smartphone screen.

I also chose What Alice Forgot like a few others.

I've changed my book from 'What Alice Forgot' to 'The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue' by V. E. Schwab. I can't wait to read it!

I'd recommend Elizabeth Is Missing. Old lady looking for her missing friend. Deals with onset of dementia in a gentle way, with humour but very realistic. An excellent read.

I put Eleanor Olyphant is Perfectly Fine for this one.

Currently reading ‘Lost in the Never Woods’ by Aiden Thomas, which follows Wendy 5 years after she came back from being missing, but without her 2 brothers or any recollection of what happened. Then Peter Pan appears and tells her only they can stop who’s taking the missing children, and perhaps save her brothers.

Planning on The Flight Attendant by Chris Bohjalian. Then watch the series on Hbomax. Looks good.

I read House of Hollow by Krystal Sutherland. It follows 3 sisters who suffered a strange event in childhood and now are suffering again. It is VERY good!! It was also published this year so could fit that category.

I read The Starless Sea for this prompt. It is part fairytale, part fantasy. The writing is beautiful. There are many characters in the book who have forgotten past lives.
