Ive read ‘The Bear’ by Claire Cameron before and it takes place outdoors under the narration of a little girl trying to keep her and her brother alive after her parents were attacked by bears. I think she’s only 5 or 6 so sometimes what she’s thinking/seeing is portrayed as such, but such a good read!
Last year, I read The Troop by Nick Cutter. It's a horror novel about a Scout troop who travels to a small island to camp and something bad is on the island with them. It takes place in the wilderness of Maritime Canada.
I read The Grace Year by Kim Liggett this week and I’m using this prompt for this book. Majority of it is set in ‘The Wilderness’.
I read A Walk in the Wood: Meditations on Mindfulness with a Bear Named Pooh by Joseph Parent for this prompt.
I just finished my favorite book so far: West with Giraffes. It's historical fiction and the hurricane giraffes and their trek to the San Diego Zoo during the Dust Bowl. It all takes place over a cross-country road trip. I highly recommend.
I read “The Island” by C. L. Taylor for this challenge. It’s set on an uninhabited island in Thailand, so I think it fits really well!
I read 438 Days: An Extraordinary True Story of Survival at Sea by Jonathan Franklin. It is the story of a fisherman lost in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, where most of the book takes place.
Let's Call It a Doomsday by Katie Henry. It's a young adult novel. Not all of it is set outdoors, but the important scenes are, so I'm counting it for now. :P
I'm planning on reading 'One Thousand White Women: The Journals of May Dodd' by Jim Fergus. I believe it should fit this category.
North by Scott & Jenny Jurek follows Scott's journey to be the fastest person to run the Appalachian Trail. Definitely fits the category!
I just finished Happiness for Beginners. I think I found it by browsing Goodreads for recommendations to fulfill this prompt. I enjoyed it, and it was a quick read.
