Mother Tongue/Native Language
I don't have one! I'm bilingual, so I learned Indonesian and English at the same time growing up (both my parents are from Indonesia but I was born in America). I can't read/write Indonesian, though, just very basic sentences that I have to guess at.
My mother tongues are Russian and Ukrainian. My family always spoke Russian at home and Ukrainian everywhere else.
I'm also bilingual, English & Spanish, but I have a really hard time concentrating when I read in Spanish.
I am billingual too!
I speak both English and Tamil. But, I'm thinking about learning Hindi too, since it'll be useful.

Oh cool! Would you say Hindi is easy? How long would it take to learn?

Um...I’m not sure. I find it pretty easy, but it’s my mother tongue, so...But if you ever need help with a word, just PM me. I’ll be glad to tell you.

Btw, this is Nitya. I just realized that I still have my profile as mr. Krabs.

I, sadly, only speak English. Both my parents are bilingual and grew up with their native languages as well as English. I'm learning Spanish but I'm not quite to the level where I can say I'm bilingual, lmao.

I'm also trying to learn Korean, but I'm mainly focusing on Spanish.
Ooh that's super cool! Yeah, I've been taking official Spanish class at my school for 3 years as well :) And wow, Korean? That's awesome.
My mother tongue is Hindi but I am bilingual too, I speak Hindi and English fluently and a little bit of Gujarati.
I am also learning French.
Anyone who speaks French here?

Finnish is my mother tongue! Though Swedish is our second national language :) Though I understand it better than I speak or write it. English is more familiar and we start learning it earlier in school than Swedish.I have also been learning Japanese for 2 years now.
My mother tongue is Italian, and I also understand (but I don't speak nor read) Friulano, which is the official ladin language of my small region. It has very few speakers, but we are trying to preserve it!Also I speak and read fluently in English but I don't know if I'd consider myself bilingual. I'd say well-versed is all ;)
I'm bilingual, I speak English and Arabic, I also understand Somali but don't really speak it. And currently I'm learning Italian.
My mother tongue is Tamil. Besides Tamil, I can speak English, Hindi and Malayalam. Living in Hyderabad for the past few years, I can faintly understand Telugu but still a long way to go. I want to learn Telugu, Urdu and Spanish.

It was easy for me since I was born in Port Blair and lived there for 5 years, where Hindi speakers are more. A significant number of Bengalis and Tamilians too live there. Also I learnt it at school.
I reckon you can learn Hindi in 6 months, provided you are dedicated and focused on the task at hand. It will be difficult to learn if you are starting from scratch.

I know our verb tenses can be tricky
(I mean, they are tricky for native speakers too --.--")

Yes, it is a beautiful language and fun to learn! I was learning it using English, but knowing Arabic helped me to learn it better, because our verbs also change depending on the gender, if it was plural..etc
My native language is Greek (I am from Cyprus) and I also speak English (obviously). I would really love to learn Spanish and maybe even Latin if I ever find the time. (Probably after I graduate.)

Portuguese! I've been learning English since I was 7 (it's mandatory here now, we learn it at school), and I know just a tiny itty bit of spanish from what i remember learning in classes.
My mother tongue is Kannada(language spoken in southern india),I speak English, Hindi, basic Indonesian,Basic Dutch
I'm born in Bulgaria and we speak Bulgarian at home but sometimes me and my sister speak in English as a joke to annoy our parents and I live in the UK :)
I'm from Australia and my native language is English. I have been learning German for the past few months, I can't speak it fluently but maybe I will someday!
im portuguese so thats my native language which is the one that i speak the most but i go to a spanish school in which all subjects are tought in spanish. i also have english in school but the majority of things i learnt were by watching tv and reading (all the books that i read are in english except the ones for school) and im also learning french ;)
My native language is english but i also speak urdu, french, korean, a little bit of mandarin and i drabble in spanish :) i also took latin for 3yrs so i’m not too bad there
i speak english but i learned spanish and german in highschool and am now studying Korean and hopefully will continue in college!!
I can speak some hindi and punjabi but I’m not as fluent in them as I am in english
Wow, my native language is English. I'm so jealous of everyone else. @Rushali I took French in High School and loved the language. I've been told it's easier to learn if your native tongue isn't English, but I hear that about learning other languages in general. Sadly most of my French has left my brain since I never used it. I dated a French guy. My French was poor and his English was much better, so we kind of met int he middle! >_< I still know how to say I love cheese and poor me some more wine!
I know phrases and bits of Japanese, Mandarin, and Korean. Mainly from watching TV in those languages. I got decent enough with Mandarin that I actually helped a Chinese college professor with our local bus route. I don't think today I could do it and I'm sad that I'm not good with Mandarin anymore.
My mother tongue is Odia. I speak Hindi and English fluently. I understand telegu. I am lucky to have had an opportunity to live at different places while growing up as my Dad use to get transferred in his job. Picked up few languages along.
Kannada. And I can also speak English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu - pretty fluently.
Able to understand basic japanese & spanish.
heheh Hungarian :) I speak English pretty fluent and well... German. I'm pretty good at it but they force me into it so much I have no joy in learning it :/
but let's just say if you'd drop me off in Germany I'd be totally fine with my knowledge, I speak good enough to be okay :D
I can speak English (international language) , I think than I can speak English fluently now😁😊Also, I can speak Hindi (nation language of India) which I can speak fluently and at I can speak Punjabi (language of Punjab) but I am not fluent in it though everyone at school and in my society speaks Phnjabi😂😂
I can speak English, Hindi and Punjabi. Hindi is my mother tongue. I took a year of French classes, so I know a little bit of that, and I understand Haryanvi, although I can't speak it. Also, @Gouri, Hindi is not the national language of India. It's just an official language, although one that is spoken in a lot of regions. India does not have a national language.
