What are the Myths you have been believing since childhood and are being brought up with, only to realise later? Or maybe there are some related your culture and the places where you live?

Temi!! (temia) | 65 comments So, in the Igbo culture of Nigeria, there are these gods and I was watching a video explaining the water goddess, Mami Wata. This roughly translates to Mother of Water. And the guy was explaining the origins behind Mami Wata and how she is honoured and so on and I just found that to be really cool.

I grew up thinking Jesus from Christianity was real, that he was one with his father and the holy ghost, and that he came to earth. I figured out that was wrong as a teenager.
