Warning: there are spoilers here for the earlier books in the Lynx series. It really should not be read out of order.

Lynx is the Iniquus Puzzler - a petit woman with a unique ability to spot the obvious, unravel puzzles, and intuit much. In fact, she possesses some extraordinary pyschic abilities, beyond just excellent intuition that have made her a powerful asset in a deceptive small package. The entire story is from Lynx's first person perspective, and there are 3 separate plots at work, all of which to some degree are ongoing in the various series the author has penned in the Iniquus private security company world. One plot continues to address the death of her parents and the impact on her life. The other two involve two groups operating on the fringes of terrorism and in a fashion similar to cults.

There's an awesome 'put down of an FBI mansplainer' scene and several action scenes. There's a studly man - her fiance Striker, an Iniquus asset. There's also an huge final set piece that will have you sitting up late into the night. Alas, any K-9s only have cameos here.

ETA: this has a very very hot sexy intimate scene. I will NEVER look at fingerpaints again without a hot flash!
