"Mississippi Sissy" (memoir) by Kevin Sessums for gender stereotypes!https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
Hope this fits the theme: Voices of History: Speeches that Changed the World by Simon Sebag Montefiore. Also good audiobook.
Others: Imperium: A Novel of Ancient Rome by Robert Harris, about Cicero´s life. There are lots of historical novels of course, but they´re all very long.
One I´ll be reading next month (or over two months) which is "only" 600 page, is The Reckoning by Sharon Kay Penman about the Welsh-English history in the 13th century.
Also for historical event:The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead (perhaps already read by the group?)
Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe (same?)
