I love to read books where if something can go wrong, for the heroine, it does. For example she may get stuck in the rain on her way to work, or she gets fired. If anyone has som recs with the heroine having a bad day I would be grateful. I prefer contemporary romance, but anything will do.

I seem to remember a book where the heroine's bra strap broke at her work. But I don't remember what the title is. Or if it is a short story or a full length.

One day at work my underwear broke. Not to hijack the thread, I'm just saying.

Hahaha! Me too! Which is why I remember that scene. I want to reread it, but I have no idea what the title or who author is. :)

I think I stapled it together and walked over to Nordstrom on my lunch break.

I loved The Undomestic Goddess! The bra one is Tempted. She used a paper clip.

Agnes and the Hitman Well, actually a lot of books by Jennifer Crusie have the heroine having a bad day (week, month, year . . .)

A book away from an episode of hoarders (fidgit77) | 257 comments PnR:
Driving Mr. Dead (Half Moon Hollow, #1.5) by Molly Harper
Jane Jameson is an accident walking:
Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs (Jane Jameson, #1) by Molly Harper

Contemporary:
Foul Play by Janet Evanovich Bobbie Faye's Very (very, very, very) Bad Day (Bobbie Faye, #1) by Toni McGee Causey And One Last Thing ... by Molly Harper

How Hard Can It Be? (Handcuffs and Happily Ever Afters, #1) by Robyn Peterman , our heroine has several bad days, and I found it hilarious but I wouldn't say everything goes wrong. The whole series is funny but I don't recommend reading Pirate Dave and his Randy Adventures.

A book away from an episode of hoarders (fidgit77) | 257 comments I've also heard good things about The Dr Pepper Prophecies by Jennifer Gilby Roberts but I haven't read it.

Krystal (00krystal) | 132 comments Try the Heather Wells series by Meg Cabot. Starts with Size 12 Is Not Fat. They are hilarious. Once teen pop star, now college dorm RA, solves crimes after falling into the middle of everything through lots of bad luck. Seriously, they are so funny. I love them.

MJ | 1617 comments My grandma had her granny knickers snap as she was walking down the sidewalk. She did pause, just walked right on out of them!

Janet Evanovich has her Stephanie plum series. The first 12 or so books are hilariously funny, with multiple bad days for poor old Steph. The rest are still ok, it's just that she forgets to advance the main plot.

Perfection (above) is good too. Both the R.L. Mathewson series are good, with probably a fair few of her h's coping a lot from all comers.

Not sure if these are 'he type' of bad days you're looking for... There are some pretty rough ones in them.

Bridal Bargains: The Tycoon's Bride / The Purchased Wife / The Price Of A Bride

And lots of bad days thru most of Marie Kelly's books. Her earlier books are edit-aly challenged, but still good characters.

I have read some from R.L. Mathewson. I loved those!

Well if you ever decide to cycle to work you either need to have waterproof overt-rousers or spare underwear in your bag. In case both options are not available stapling will not help you.
