I'll put the other challenges up when June is closer, but the extra challenge will be to read the rainbow. This DOES NOT have a time limit on it. It does not need to be done this month. To complete this challenge you'll pick 6 books, for up to 6 points. Each will have to have one of the colors of the rainbow on the cover. I know you all know the rainbow, but just in case you'll be looking for red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple.

For example: The Body Finder (The Body Finder, #1) by Kimberly Derting works for the color blue.
Just post the book cover and document your progress as you finish.

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 2770 comments Thanks Heather!! I got a little confused.:) I will have to see what I can come up with, but first I will have to figure out what those rainbow colors are. lol

It was partial sarcasm and also an attempt to avoid debates over the indigo issue. "Is this blue or indigo?" seemed like it'd be too much of a pain to deal with so I felt the need to specify.

message 4: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 2770 comments So I admit I looked up the colors and I saw there was blue and indigo. My first thought was aren't they the same??? But there are tons of books with blue covers so I figured I could just read 2 blue's and call one indigo. :)

message 5: by Heather (new)

Heather T (horrorvacui000) | 5931 comments Mod
Indigo is blue jean color apparently. I wonder why we call them blue jeans...

message 6: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 2770 comments Maybe because indigo jeans sounds silly. :)

message 7: by Heather (new)

Heather T (horrorvacui000) | 5931 comments Mod
I think it's because no one cares about indigo unless you have to use dyes yourself.

How is the Soul Screamers series?

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 2770 comments Heather wrote: "How is the Soul Screamers series?"

They aren't bad, a very different concept from what is out there. I am not sure what Carrie will say, but for me they are run right out to read books, but get when I can from the library.

message 15: by Carrie (Care) (new)

Carrie (Care) (care76) | 1746 comments Yeah, I agree with Darcy. I probably won't be buy it, I'll try to get it from the library (either the actual book or the audio). I liked the first one, but the second wasn't as good. So I'm hoping this one will be a big step up.

I do think this book will be a make or break book for me in the series. If it is bad again I will quit reading them.

I do think the covers are very pretty though.

Haha. Darcy found an indigo book. =)

I just got my green and purple books in from the library. Too bad there's 15 books in line before them. I'm sure I'll go crazy and switch the order though.

I didn't go looking for one, but as I was looking through the books I had just brought home I realized that one was perfect. lol

Jen Lani, to cross out you would put <'s'> before what you wanted crossed out and <'/s'> after. (but without the ')

Welcome Lani! Have you read Some Girls Are by Courtney Summers by Courtney Summers? I liked it much more than Cracked Up To Be. It was one of those books that makes you want to yell at the characters while reading it, lol.

message 25: by Heather (new)

Heather T (horrorvacui000) | 5931 comments Mod
Oh, for those of you that don't know...
If you click on some html is ok at the top of your comment box it gives you some of the basic codes that goodreads accepts.

message 26: by Lani (last edited Jun 03, 2010 04:43AM) (new)

Lani (crahfty) Thank you Jen and Heather! I guess I should explore a little more, lol!

Carrie-I put Some Girls Are on my TBR list. I've read Cracked up to Be and liked it, but also enjoy a good yell at a character! If you like that storyline, Just Listen by Sarah Dessen is along those same lines. It sounds like it might be heavier on the romance.

message 27: by Carrie (Care) (new)

Carrie (Care) (care76) | 1746 comments ^^ I read Just Listen too. I do like Sarah Dessen, but Courtney Summers is more gritty if you know what I mean.

message 28: by Lani (new)

Lani (crahfty) I got ya Carrie. I enjoy gritty novels as well. I don't discriminate, lol!

message 29: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (wildcherry) I'm in on this one...I'll have to go thru my TBR pile to figure out my colors....

Green~ Linger (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #2) by Maggie Stiefvater

Yellow~ The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Millennium #1) by Stieg Larsson

Orange~ Witch and Wizard by James Patterson

I loved Magic study. Although, Poison Study was my favorite. Let me know what you think of it.

message 34: by Carrie (Care) (new)

Carrie (Care) (care76) | 1746 comments 2 down! Some of mine don't come out until later this year, so this challenge will take me a bit.

message 35: by Lani (new)

Lani (crahfty) I only have one more to go, but I purchased it so it may take me til the end of the year to read it, lol! I have about 6 books that I've bought to read but put aside because of library books.

lol... story of my life. ;)

Heather- I just stared it & so far so good. I read Poison Study a while back & I'm trying to get my brain caught up on who was who & what happened. lol

Lani - I have that problem all the time. I need to get to my TBR book, but I keep getting things from the library. I have about 100 books that need to be read and then about 15-30 library books at any given time. I never get to the bought books because of it. That doesn't stop me from buying them though. =)

message 39: by Lani (new)

Lani (crahfty) Me too Heather! I will buy a book knowing I won't end up reading it for a few months, lol!

message 40: by Jen (new)

Jen Wow, some of you are just plowing through your lists! I haven't even done one! lol

You have till the end of the year. No panic.
I'm liking these too. I'll have to make more of them. As we all start to finish these two I'll add another one.

message 47: by Angela (new)

Angela B wooo hooo!

message 48: by Lani (new)

Lani (crahfty) My list just happened to fall into place. I had most of the books on my immediate TBR list, so it's been fairly easy. I just got lucky...

I have to wait for my last one to be released. I'm going crazy waiting.

message 50: by Angela (new)

Angela B I haven't made much progress on this challenge but all the books are things I was planning to read anyway so I'm sure I will finish it before the end of the year, that's who long we have right?
