I think we're going to have a great time!! Thank you all for participating and thank you Lady Vale for handling this!
I was looking forward to reading this book and as soon as Carol told me this will be the July read, I jumped at what will be my first group read. I only wish that I could have the book in time :/
Sezen, join us anyway!!! Read when you get the book and pop in and comment. These discussions usually go on longer than the month, so please, join us, ok?

Oooooooohhhhhh! Good question, Carol!!!! Very good question. Let me talk to the moderators and we'll get back to you.
Carol, I'm sorry to have taken so long to reply here!! Yes, we'll be reading 2 books. This one and Love in the Afternoon which has its own thread now.
I got mine int eh mail last week while in Philly. I hope to start reading it today! It will be my first tessa dare book as well.
I still have to get Lady Isabell's story! Shish, whats my problem!
Has any one started this book yet? I'm on Chapter 9 and feeling rather impatient. What are your thoughts to the story so far?
I got this book before leaving on my vacation thinking this would be the poll winner. I finished and loved it. I will be putting the rest of the series on my to read list.I am using my iPad while riding in my car. Hubby was able to make a connection via his cell phone. Will write more later
I read it, but didn't love it. I feel it will be forgettable for me. I also felt like the whole "stud club" idea was lame.
I just started this last night, and I'm at chapter 4. I thought it was funny how he picked her up and carried her out of the ball at the end of chapter 1.
I'm on Chapter 10 and had to put it down for a bit. Will pick it up after finishing "Devil in Winter". Heidi, how are you liking it?
I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm really enjoying this book. I also think the card games are... ummmm.... hot. :)
KATHERINE-I am LOVIN this book!
BEKAH- Just gt to chater 13 adn read the first...say, oh, couple paragraphs...iot will refresh your memory!
HOLY COW BATMAN!
DHES-Glad your loving this book too! Its my frst read by tessa dare!

I ahve a few other books here by her Dhes...now I think I gotta get reading them, if they are anywhere near this one!
Bekah wrote: "That was cute. I don't remember chapter 13, heidi... what happend???"Holy Moses - how could you forget Chapter 13? Small clue:
"You should be trembling in your slippers, because I am tired and frustrated and about two heartbeats away from throwing you to the bed, ripping that dress from your body, and making you mine, whether you wish it or not."
maybe i just read this book at the wrong time.... :-)However, I really didn't like the whole stud club angle. I did like the hero, but I don't recall anything memorable....other than the card games, and that first dance.
Will go peruse it again!
Like I said I'm only on Chapter 10 but so far the Hero doesn't do much for me. The Heroine is supporting a brother that needs to hit rock bottom so he can get back on his feet. There doesn't seem to be much substance. I really don't understand why they got married. So I will read on and maybe it will pick up. It sounds like chpt 13 has promise.
It gets better. I didn't feel like there were any peaks and valleys in this book, meaning, not terribly suspenseful suspense, if you know what I mean? But I'm still loving it. Like 20 pages to go.
I read this - didn't realize it was a book club read. Hope it is okay if I chime in. It was my first Tessa Dare book, and left me with mixed feelings. I really enjoyed certain parts, like the card games :) but not so much the personalities of the H/h. Have a little problem with the issue the young girl/ward confronts at the end of the book. I don't want to post too much detail and give anything away. Can't wait to discuss this with you all, though.
I did finish it tonight. I enjoyed it. It was also my first Tessa Dare read. I'm heard not such good things about the 2nd book, so I don't know if I'll rush out and buy it or not. I do want to know who the killer is, so likely I'll read them eventually.
SPOILERS:I finished this book last night. I ended up liking Spencer but could never relate to Amelia. I think it was because the author spent too much time telling me how caring she was instead of showing me. Come on, Spencer has broken ribs and she hugs him and then leaves. I wish it would have ended with Amelia going to Spencer instead of Spencer having to go to Amelia. He hadn't done anything but be kind and try to explain she was an idiot when it came to her brother Jack. There were a few cute moments, my favorite was the sparing between Ashworth and Spencer and them ending up "not enemies".
Heidi wrote: "HOLY CHAPTER 13!"I'm only on chapter 9 - sounds like I'd better keep reading! Could chapter 13 have anything to do with the delayed wedding night?!
So far, Amelia is a very pragmatic girl who blindly loves her brothers no matter what - other than finding the zest in kissing, she has no room for romance, but then, so far Spencer hasn't been romantic.
Katherine, SPOILER --I agree 100% regarding Amelia. I made some comments about her in my review but she's far from a favorite. It wasn't until the end when she sort of redeemed herself that I liked her at all.
Finished - and mostly liked it, especially chapters 17 & 18. My SPOILERS are below:I agree with Katherine & Dhestiny about Amelia - everything focused around her blind devotion to Jack, and I didn't feel that she tried very hard with Claudia until after the big revelation. And I'm with you, Katherine, about the ending - if we're going to have a strong-willed heroine, she has to be strong enough to admit that she was at fault, especially after everything else that Spencer had gone through.
I didn't like Amelia. Tried to but just couldn't do it. Her character was not the least bit sympathetic in my opinion. I have no patience in the real world with people who bring problems on themselves and then whine about them instead of doing something to fix them, and even less patience with that trait in a character in a book. SPOILER:
Something I had a big problem with, as well, was Claudia and the cause of her angst. I know that happens in the real world, but I'm reading fiction. I want to be taken away from things like that. She's 15 for crying out loud. Was it really necessary? Couldn't she have been just a little older? Maybe 17?

I see your point, T. But really, many girls were married by 17 so I think I can see the need to make her 15.
Katherine - I'm still holding out hope for that. I haven't read book 2, so I don't know what has happened yet. ***fingers crossed for a resolution***
