new_user | 755 comments I'll probably still read Shades of Dark next month if anyone wants to read with me, but maybe I'll read Breaking Chance too. :)

Nichole ~Bookaholic~ (nicholebookaholic) NU - I will read shades of dark with you (actually will be listening to it)

I have Breaking Chance in my TBR pile so will read that too

Nichole,
How do you lend things on a Kindle? I had heard something about that but have no specifics.

Carolyn, Before I got my kindle I had the kindle ap for iphone and I have the Kobo app from Borders on my computer. Both of those are free and easy to install and work fine.

Nichole ~Bookaholic~ (nicholebookaholic) The announcement was just made today.....
www.amazon.com/kindle-lending

I have actually e-mailed amazon to find out if lending is a one time deal per book (a few months ago using the nook app I loaned a book out and found out I could never lend it again it was a one shot per book deal...)

Jacqueline J | 154 comments Thanks Nichole,
I just read the page you quoted. It does sound like you can only ever loan a book once. Let us know what you find out.

Nichole ~Bookaholic~ (nicholebookaholic) over at the kindle group I was just told you can lend a book more then once just not to the same person......

Thanks, good to know.

Back on topic - I just bought my copy of Breaking Chance. So far so good but I'm only about 5 pages in.

message 21: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. I do have a Sony e-reader. So I think it's possible for me to download if you're able to share Nichole. Thanks so much if you can!

message 22: by AnnaM (new)

AnnaM (annamc) | 1111 comments Nu, I'd read Shades of Dark with you but I already read it. I thought it was good. That's why I didn't vote for Linnea's books--I finished both of those.

message 23: by new_user (new)

new_user | 755 comments Well, good to know you enjoyed it anyway, Anna. :) You can still join in in our chat! :D

I've been to buy my copy fron B&N all day, and keep getting redirected back to my wishlist :(

message 25: by Jacqueline J (new)

Jacqueline J | 154 comments Finished it. Good but quick. It would have made a very fulfilling longer SFR novel.

message 26: by new_user (new)

new_user | 755 comments Wow, that was fast, Jacqueline! LOL.

Nichole ~Bookaholic~ (nicholebookaholic) Finished Breaking Chance...was good but seemed pretty short....started the audio for Shades of Dark

message 28: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Gilmore Ugh! My apologies to anyone that I've confused regarding this month's group read. I was so focused on buying 7% and Rising by Kim Knox by the same author, that I listed that on our main page instead of Breaking Chance by Kim Knox . I've updated it. I guess that's what happens when you have too many books to read, LOL!

NebulousGloom (FK) (nebulousgloom) | 30 comments I also just finished it. I agree with the other comments. It was good, but I would have liked it a whole lot more if the author had put more time into developing everything (especially the sexual tension). Has anyone read anything else by Kim Knox? If this was more or less what all her books are like, then I probably won't get any more.

message 30: by Anne (new)

Anne (booklover6) | 23 comments I started it last night. I really like Lucky Chance, she is funny.

message 31: by Anne (new)

Anne (booklover6) | 23 comments Just finished it. Good story, well written, but the ending, too quick! I wanted to read more! I wonder if Ms. Knox will write a sequel.

message 32: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Gilmore I was finally able to get my copy, and will start reading it tonight. Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!

message 33: by AnnaM (last edited Jan 12, 2011 02:13PM) (new)

AnnaM (annamc) | 1111 comments Just finished! You're all right. I wish it had been longer. It was just on the line for me of "is this too quick to be realistic...or is it okay?"

I would have enjoyed staying in this world longer because there are lots of interesting areas that aren't explored much.

I really enjoyed the characters.

message 34: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Gilmore I'm with everyone else. Even though its a novella, it just felt too quick for me.
