I can hardly comment on this because I'm homeschooled and my school ranges from anywhere from a half hour to a few hours (depends on how quickly I want to get it done and how well it gets done.)
I think it would be nice if school started a little later, like at 9:30 and ended later, like around 4. I could get a little more sleep! Currently, my school starts at 8:25 and ends@3:35.
My mum actually favors the idea of school starting as late as 10:00am lol. That would work for me!
Or anything later than 7:00 am .. D:

I don't want to get out of school at 5:00 though, that's the only problem with that for me. 4:00 is okay...
Well I can imagine after school programs would be pushed back since well they wouldn't have any business if they go on while school is still in session.
Honestly, I'd prefer to have school start as early as reasonably possible so that you have more time to do stuff afterwards, so I like the current hours (8:13 to 3:36 here. Yes, the minutes are really awkward.)
NO! I need more sleep (and if you say go to bed earlier I will be quite annoyed, it doesn't work that way for me, I prefer night over day it's more peaceful, I like it more, I'm relatively nocturnal)
Sleep in school :P lol I'd never tell someone to go to sleep earlier, that sounds like such a parent thing... and my optimal hours are 5 pm to 8-ish am '-_-
I need more sleep too. But the great thing about being at the top of biology class last year? Being allowed to sleep during class! Yes-s-s! I still miss that :-P
Cody: xD It always makes me feel like I'm being more efficient with my time than I would otherwise '-_-
Tenebris: Whaaaaaaaat??? I want that class!!! x]

He he, I usually pay attention... except during math... I dozed several times last year... it was so freaking boring...
Math I never pay attention in '-_- And rarely in French...depends on the teacher for history.... :P
That's me for science classes xD And English if it's about a book, any book, even if I don't particularly like it '-_-
English, Science, History, or any elective pertaining to those subjects, I pay attention greatly in, they actually interest me. Math is a scourge.
I love math, but we should be going 10x faster imo. It's boring to me because we're spoonfed every single little bit; when we're introduced to a totally new topic I'm interested '-_-
Heh, well my dad's a math PhD and my mom's also a math major so I kind of have to be good at it '-_-
Not really, it comes really naturally to me >.< (Actually, I remember almost figuring out parametric equations on my own when I was 9-10 but then kind of confusing myself...anyway, when we were learning about it last year I was like "HOLY FUCK I KNOW THIS!!!" xP)
xD You learn them in pre-calc :P
And actually, I realized I was bragging with the age - it must've been closer to 12, as I didn't have enough of a basis with functions at 9 to have made the inferences I did '-_-

I'm going to be in Geometry this year.... I took Algebra 1 last year... I'm only average in math...
10th lol, Geometry 1 is the normal class for 10th grade in my district lol (for some reason they split apart algebra 1 and 2 and stuck geometry in the middle) Advanced math on the other hand took Algebra 2 in 9th grade and Algebra 1 in 8th and they're taking geometry honours this year.
In my school it was algebra 1 then geometry (or honors geometry) and then algebra 2. So yeah .. we had both algebras split like that.
Ours wasn't like that till this year actually... I think it was because we had really low scores on geometry on our state tests.
Hmm.
I knew some students who flunked the state testing because they thought that it "didn't matter" -_-

Oh, yeah, your 'normal math' works the same as ours, for our advanced math it's the same as normal math except you start Algebra 1 in 7th grade, geometry 8th, etc....

I actually took advanced math in 7th grade, it was pre algebra and I did relatively well I got mid to high 80's all year, but then I got into Algebra 1 in 8th grade and I was failing so I left >.<
BWHAHAHAHA I just got back from scheduling (for like what classes I'm taking this year) and I was able to get into the 11th grade AP history class!
Wait, pre-algebra in 7th grade is advanced math?I just took it in 1"7th grade. Thought it was the normal math for that grade.

In our district pre-algebra is normal math too :P
But really??? For me I couldn't do pre-algebra to save my life, but when I got into algebra it all clicked >.<

It's just all logic...I like it >.< I couldn't do geometry, though, although I partially blame my teacher for that...I couldn't understand him, and neither could anyone else in the school >.< He was just confusing :P
Algebra is pure logic :P Math in general is.
For geometry, I realized about halfway through my Algebra 2 semester that if I just rewrote all the geometry problems as a set of equations and took all the visual out, I understood much better. I have no clue why that works, it's supposed to be the other way around o.o I still hate geometry though x]
