So I could probably ramble on forever so I will refrain. Hope to get to know some of you! :)
Hi Kristie! A big warm welcome to you! Thanks so much for sharing a little bit about yourself. It was fun to get to know a little bit about you and your book interests. :-) By the sounds of it you will fit right in to our Book-club! I know Annie (Moderator #2) really enjoys reading biographies of actors/actresses/people she is interested in, so she is with you on that one! I've read a few and enjoyed them as well. I also really enjoy travel memoirs (since we are talking non-fiction :)
And you are definitely amongst friends when it comes to judging books by their covers! We are unashamed book cover judgers. We find some of our favorite books that way!
Again, so glad to have you! Feel free to jump into any or all of the discussions.

Hello! I do really like biographies/autobiographies :) I actually just finished an autobiography by Dick Van Dyke and it was very good! I think it's on my list.
I think we'll get along great - we're all at about the same speed so far!

It REALLY was! I was kind of surprised how interesting it was, especially for an autobio. He (Mr. Van Dyke) says right in the beginning that if you're "looking for dirt" that you're not going to find it, but at the same time, he certainly didn't shy away from the less glamorous aspects, choices and circumstances of his life. And he knows what he's talking about - the man was born in 1925 and has been in "the business" most of his life! I would definitely recommend it.

Welcome Trisha! So glad to have you! I think a few of us are even behind on our November titles. It's a busy time of year! We will probably still be discussing a few of them into December if you were particularly drawn to any certain one. :-) Looking forward to some good chats!
Hello Nilgun! So sorry! We are working on it. Both Annie and I (the moderators)have been rather lax with Bookclub this month with the holidays and upcoming business. That said, I think we are going to move the current books into next month as well. Simply extend the four we have up through the end of Dec. in order for us to catch up, get them read and have a chance to discuss. I think the only one we've actually been discussing thus far is "The Birth House". I am about to pick up "The Tenderness of Wolves" next if you would like to jump into that one with us! I will be posting January's books soon as well. I'm excited to get back into it and dig into some good topics!
Thanks for your inquiry.

Hello, Carol! Thanks for joining and giving us a try :) We are only a couple months into this, but we are having a lot of fun! Feel free to pop in on any of the discussions or start one yourself! We genuinely do love discussing books and this has been such a great way to meet people and share in our love of books and reading :)
Hello Carol! I second everything that Annie (Moderator #2) has already said. Welcome! So glad to have you! We are getting towards the end of the month here so hopefully the discussions will start heating up within the next week. I've been reading 1000 Gifts and have thus far REALLY enjoyed it. Thanks for joining and participating. We are glad to have you!

Hi, Melissa! I know the feeling - I haven't finished a single one of our books for this month and I have a literal stack of books to read as well! But that's the fun of it :) This group is more about meeting and discussing books we like, not just the ones on the list! Thanks for introducing yourself!

Welcome Chiyoko! So glad you are joining us! And Carol is absolutely right. It is 100% a "read what you want and can" sort of group. Please jump in whenever! Pick whatever books interest you. And even feel free to post on discussion boards of books past or upcoming books. We are very casual and encourage any participation. :-) Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and opinions!

Mostly I read the free stuff from Google, Amazon and Project Gutenberg books because I am cheep. Read the Chronicles of Barsetshire series by Anthony Trollope over the winter. Kind of a nice accomplishment. Those I got in book form from a garage sale.
Not really into the privet eye book. I like more story books that tell a tail. Favorite is Shadow Song by Terry Kay. That was a book that again I had when I was alone in the winter months and became quite fond of it. Even met Kay and had coffee with him in GA.
