This is the version I first fell in love with: Silas Marner

I'm not sure if it's the best, but I didn't find anything particularly bad about it.

Not sure of the version I read. Basically whatever I find in the library or online for books, so I'm not usually looking for a specific version. What a great book. Did you finally read it? What version and was it a good one? I for one had no idea George Elliot was a woman, what a cool surprise.

I read Silas Marner more than 50 years ago and still remember most of it. I loved it then and now it's on my read-again list! Thanks for reminding me of what a work of great literature it is.

Resti Anantika oh...I am going to make a paper about this novel, what you got from this novel? I mean the lessons or something?

I recall reading it in high school and discovering it to be the first "required" reading that I enjoyed as much as my pleasure reading. I had a wonderful English teacher, Miss Williams, that would read sections aloud to us, doing all the characters, and really bring it to life.

I envy the way she writes. A true classic.

This is far far better than Twilight series, hahahaha, seriously!

You can't beat the Oxford World Classics edition with its helpful and enlightening introduction and footnotes. Attractive cover and good quality paper and type-setting help too!
