I know that this book isn't on our reading list, but I just had to say how much I love this book! I am re-reading it for the second time and I find myself saying "This IS a great book!" repeatedly :) Has anyone else read this book and felt the same way?! What a great little read... I started it this morning and am half-way done already! I guess the author is coming out with another book shortly so I thought I would refresh and in case it's a related topic... why do you re-read books???

Charmaine (wistad) I loved Austenland. I'd read (or rather, listen) to it again. It's a fun story and well written. I'm looking forward to the next one - Midnight in Austenland. I've also enjoy a couple of other books by the author (Shannon Hale): The Goose Girl and Enna Burning - both of which are really good re-tellings of fairy tales.

I didn't know she had written anything else! I will have to see if I can get the other titles from the library :) Thanks for the heads-up!

Ooo! I hadn't looked into her other books either! I loved Austenland and made sure Midnight in Austenland went straight to my "To-read" list as soon as I saw it. Good idea to re-read the first one though first...
Anyway, I placed a hold on Midnight at the library but the book is still on order (seeing as how it just came out yesterday!) Should I put Midnight in Austenland up for a third Feburary read or a March read for Clouds, Coffee and Classics? There seems to be interest in this one!

I'm planning on reading it as soon as I can get my hands on a copy so put it on whichever month you prefer - I will be ready! FYI: The eReader copy doesn't seem to come out until the 6th of February, so if that is how one plans to read it, you will have to wait until then I guess!
So long - back to reading I go! ;)

Charmaine (wistad) I vote for March.

March it is!! I'll be adding it in. Also... side note. I've removed "The Dovekeepers" from February's reads and will be replacing it with a much SHORTER, probably lighter read due to the feedback I've been getting on that one. Lets keep it light in February! The day's are long and cold enough as it is without a long depressing book to add to the mix! Any feedback on this?? I can add it back if someone is desperate to read it, but I don't think I'll be getting to that one in the midst of trying to catch up with all the others from January.

I vote we pass... I picked it up several times, but I also put it back down! I know my book tastes and that one wasn't measuring up based solely on the description, so I'm with ya!

Charmaine (wistad) Yes, definitely pass on The Dovekeepers. I just called the Spooner Library about Midnight in Austenland. They are going to order it in 2-3 weeks. So I asked to be put on the list for it. Hopefully they'll get it in time for me to read it for our March discussions.
