Who loves Jem?

Me! Even though I am team Will, it doesn't mean I don't love Jem, because I do. Gotta love musicians!

What would you think about a book where the main character is a troll?

Is he supposed to be a hot troll? The word troll is a total turnoff for sure though.

So far I've come across a girl troll and a boy troll and they're both attractive, but it's weird to read about. :P

Just the idea of having those two frightening over you is enough to make your knees weak. Cassandra did such a great job making the reader fall in love with both of them.

I think she would be better with Will too. I think that they just have more in common. I mean, he says to her everything that she has ever imagined the guy of her dreams saying to her. But she couldn't have said no to Jem because she loves Will, she loves Jem too and she was convinced that Will practically hated her.

I didn't like swicthed. I couldn't get through the first 20 or so pages.

Yeah, but she thought that Will hated her! The ending was sooooooooo heartbreaking!!!! The scene in the drawing room....... So sad!!!!!!!! I cried for days!

Jem is a great guy, but obviously she is really in love with Will, so this can't end well for her and Jem. Her and Will are so much better suited for each other! They've loved each other like right from the start!
so I was mad at her for saying yes to Jem.

I like Jem and all, but I was really disappointed that she said yes to his marriage proposal, where she is so much better suited for Will and isn't in love with Jem except for in a brotherly way .
I know she feels guilty for not loving him in the same way as he loves her, and that he is sick which made her say yes.. but I can't see it ending well for her and Jem.
If anything, this will just hurt him even more, knowing that she never actually wanted to marry him.
She is clearly meant for Will .

I just have to ask, what makes you guys think that Tessa is not in love with Jem? She really is. Cassandra Clare herself has it said that she is many times on her tumblr and twitter I am sure.

Sorry, I don't mean to come across as rude if I do. I just want to know what makes you say it, and show you that she does love him.
If you were in Tessa's situation and you thought you were in love with a guy that had done nothing but be horrible and convince you that he hates you, and then another guy that you were in love with also proposed to you, would you say no to wait for the complete arse hole? We know that Will has reasons, Tessa may suspect it, but she doesn't know for sure. So why should she waste her time on him. And I am not saying this because I am Team Jem, I am firmly Team Will.

i love Jem... for me, but not for Tessa. I think he is amazing and i don't want him to get hurt by Tessa but i think that she will end up with Will as she should.

he is so great and i prefer him compared to Will. *sighs* So sweet and funny, and really empathetic. He can't die! There must be a cure.

I totally agree with bookowl, about everything. That is totally how I felt about Jem when I was reading the books. I just want the next one to come out so that I know he'll be okay.

I absolutely love Jem, although I love Will too. I think Tessa is truly in love with the both of them, although it's a different love. Will is the tough guy you fall head over heels in love with because he reminds you of the knight or shadowhunter in this case who slayed the dragon and saved the princess. He's the one you're going to have a life full of adventure and some danger with. Jem on the other hand is the shining sort (literally ^_^) he's romantic, and considerate. The type you settle down with and start a family with. 2 very very different boys.

@Elyse I totally agree. I think she loves both of them, but in different ways. Even though I agree Will is totally that person can't you just imagine him totally ready to settle down with Tessa and start a family! <3

This is exactly the reason that I think she should choose Will, she belongs with Will:

I cried so much when I first read it! But strangely when I read it for the second time I didn't cry.

I am always unsure whether or not to spoiler tag stuff on some of these discussions :/

What makes you so sure that she is going to choose Will? If she (view spoiler)[breaks off the engagment with Jem, she will break his heart (hide spoiler)], and then Will won't be able to be with her because she broke Jem's heart. If Jem dies, Will won't be able to be with her because she only chose him after her first choice died. I really think that Tessa is the kind of woman that would choose neither of them. So that is also a possibility.

As much as I love Jem, and I want Tessa to choose him, you can tell its going to be Will. But apparently some people think that maybe Jem becomes Brother Zachariah..... That would definitely be interesting
