I just finished Code Name Verity and it's excellent - I definitely think it should be on our list for May books.
The Boy on Cinnamon Street and Curveball: The Year I Lost My Grip These have gotten a lot of starred reviews.
Whitney wrote: "I've heard some buzz on Code Name Verity -- I got the ARC at Midwinter, so I may read that next."Since that releases in May and has received buzz on Someday My Printz, we must be sure to put it on the June poll!
Jess wrote: "I just finished Code Name Verity and it's excellent - I definitely think it should be on our list for May books."Since it releases Mid-May, I'll put it on the June list.
Amanda wrote: "I really enjoyed Graffiti Moon by Cath Crowley."Have not heard of this title. Will put it on the poll. Be sure to vote for it!
Dana wrote: "The Boy on Cinnamon Street and Curveball: The Year I Lost My Grip These have gotten a lot of starred reviews."Boy on Cinnamon Street is more Newbery than Printz but Curveball will be on the poll.
Please consider adding Nothing Special by Geoff Herbach to the next poll. This looks like a noteworthy novel by the same author who wrote Stupid Fast. Thanks for considering.
Anne wrote: "I really enjoyed Lexapros and Cons. I think it's worth a look."That sounds so funny! Will have to find a copy.
Anne wrote: "Just finished Drowning Instinct today. Intense, great voice, nothing black and white in this one."Great cover for that one!
I really want to read Drowning Instinct. I loved Code Name Verity and Boy 21. I loved Stupid Fast and I've ordered a copy of Nothining Special. It looks like The Boy on Cinnamon Street is middle grade fiction, as it listed as 8up

I have
The Boy on Cinnamon Street on my newbery watch list.
I still want to read both Herbach books!
I picked up Ask The Passengers by A.S. King at ALA last weekend and read it this week. I adored it and definitely think it has Printz potential -- one to add to the polls in the fall!
So glad some of you read Drowning Instinct. I thought it was a great read. I have Lexapros in my car waiting until I get done some others. Keep the suggestions coming!
I added Lexapros and Cons to my list; it sounds like it could also be a contender for the Schneider Family Book Award.
Just finished reading Dying to Know You by Aidan Chambers Dying to Know You is an interesting take as an older author is the narrator to the story of a love affair between a female fan of his and her boyfriend who comes to the author for help in winning her. It's much more than the story of a courtship and I found it thoughtful and surprising.
Whitney wrote: "I picked up Ask The Passengers by A.S. King at ALA last weekend and read it this week. I adored it and definitely think it has Printz potential -- one to add to the polls in the fall!"So many books to remember!!!! When does it pub?
Kathy wrote: "Whitney wrote: "I picked up Ask The Passengers by A.S. King at ALA last weekend and read it this week. I adored it and definitely think it has Printz potential -- one to add to the polls in the fal..."Oct. 23, so not until the November poll I suppose.
Kathy wrote: "What are some books on your radar?"Just got done Smoke and Bone and really enjoyed it. A good fast read similar to Graceling. I think the kids will really like it.
Just finished Something Like Normal by Trish Doller - excellent characters dealing with complex situations
Just read Every Day by David Levithan and Monstrous Beauty by Elizabeth Fama. Different books but both have a supernatural element, are well written with teen appeal.

January 28, at ALA Midwinter - they're usually first thing in the morning (Pacific time, this year). They don't come out with a list of finalists ahead of time - they just announce the winner and honor books.
