I'm thinking the most prominent love interest will be...what's his name? Asher is it? Asher, because they had the "mysterious encounter" outside.

And...wow, now that you mention it, it always IS the dark, brooding guy that gets the girl. Hmm....I'm trying to think of YA books where that isn't the case...
...so far I'm blank...

For the first 2 chapters of A Beautiful Dark, with the fight scene and all...doesn't it kind of bring back memories of Fallen? (I'm assuming you've read it...?)

Okay, so my thoughts: yes, she was most likely hovering over her bed. Authors do like to do that: say one thing isn't real or didn't happen, but then we find out later that it actually DID *gasp!* (It happened in Madapple)
And...Skye feels a strange and unnaturally powerful connection to Asher? Uh-oh. What shall we nickname him: Edward or Daniel? :D
Asher and Devin are cousins. Yikes. Kinda makes the "fighting over her" thing a tad awkward. Hope it doesn't happen. Actually, I'm seeing a more Asher vs. Ian approach.
Now that I'm onto Ian, did you notice a personality shift between the 2nd and 3rd chapters? Maybe I'm overanalyzing, but he seemed more comfortable around Skye in chapter 3 than he did in chapter 2.

WAIT. Why do you think that is? She must be significant in heaven/hell if she's experiencing strange transformations.

Asher's getting creepy with his stalking and mind-reading. Also...isn't the way he's always "smirking" and taunting Skye a bit annoying?
If he IS a mindreader, though...maybe the nickname Edward would be more appropriate:)

Or I might be imagining things.
I don't know.
I also don't know why Skye has three loves interests. She can't possibly be that likable, can she?

Good thing he doesn't have an ego like Asher, because he can probably read minds, too.

My speculations are that Asher and Devin were sent to protect her while her mysterious powers are setting in. To protect her from what, we can only assume some "evil force" we haven't been introduced to yet.

The whole trail incident just further proves my theory that Devin and Asher are there to protect her...only this time from herself...

I don't know what I think.

The story is tilting more towards supernatural abilities rather than angels. And...maybe she's the daughter of some particularly powerful beings...? Destined to be a prodigy? There's more to her parents' "deaths" than what's been revealed so far. Either they didn't actually die, or if they did, it happened for an entirely different reason then a car crash.

To be fair, it was quite predictable. Daughter of a rebel and a guardian. Oh-so-special individual. And Asher and Devin were sent to protect her.
I knew it!

If there is a difference...

The word "angel" has never actually been used (yet), so I guess we'll just have to refer to them as Rebels and Guardians for the time being:D

And I'm kind of glad that Devin won't be participating in the Asher-Skye-Ian triangle.

"I don't want to kiss you."
"I don't want you to kiss me."
"Oh, well, then it makes perfect sense that we should kiss right now."
What?

Too many relationships going at one time.
I'm confused.

...Doesn't she kind of remind you of the Granny from Hoodwinked?

Jo is definitely an angel. The author has made her too much of a "cool, fun person" for her to be clueless about it.
