Until I Die discussion

I KNOW! I hated the ending! But did he really die? Didn't she hear him in her head on the last page? Or was she just imagining that?

That sounds like a good theory. I need the third book to come out!!!! Do you know if it's a trilogy or what?

It's a trilogy. The last book comes out next May. And when I saw that she had heard him in her head, i freaked out. Remember how they said that if you kill a relevant while he's volant, his spirit roams forever!? Wouldn't that be the worst thing? He'd have to watch her fall in love again (jules i'm rooting for you!) and apparently when he's volant he 'wants' her more than ever so that sucks.

yes it did i always knew that Violette was the evil one and i also thought that Kate was the champion
now i wait for the sun to fall and the moon to rise for as long as days no weeks no not even that i must wait within the crowd for months

i believed that too ...
at some point i thought: hmm maybe kate is the champion after all?
and i knew from the beginning that violette was malicious!

it must be hard not having people around who also read books but in the next few years i can tell you that you will meet sooooo many people that have read the books that you have read
because when i was in year 8 i was not a book person but slowly i read more and my cousins read and sooo many people in my grade and of other grade a school read thats the best thing about being in high school that there are so many new people around :)

Actually, i agree. I think Kate is the champion. Violette has got the wrong one and even if Vincent died and he is in ghost form, the third book could do with some necromancy stuff.

i was already waiting months for until i die and at some point i got desperate lol

I don't think Vincent is really dead, otherwise the whole series would be like a waste, so yeah I think he'll be back in the next book, and Kate is goona be looking for him :)

Vincent is not dead! The author wouldn't kill off the second most important character.

I have two theories that have to do with different parts that could happen in the next book (If I Should Die)

Theory 1: I think Jules loves Kate. Remember in his studio the way he looked at her? GHJKSJKGSJ! So i think everyone (the characters) will think Vincent is dead and then Jules will tell Kate he loves her and then Vincent will come back, and then it will be like, BAMM!!

Theory 2:in the next book Kate will die and turn into a revenant, and instead of Vincent being THE CHAMPION, Kate will be..

OHMIGOSH! I can't wait to find out what happens!

hi.... i think there are many theories.
1. vincent is not dead, violette is waiting for more thrill in killing the champion,kate goes to rescue.
2. remember the guerisseur???? i think bran becomes the victor seer after gwenhel's death and will come to help kate.
3.i think too kate is the champion cas she was the one who killed lucien in body though vincent was within her he was volant.....so lastly violette will not achieve anythin by killing vincent instead she comes after kate.
4. kate will die and come back as a revennat.......obviously becoming the champion as sarah's theory 2

These type of love book... ALWAYS HAVE A HAPPY ENDING. Just give me a few title YA book that does not have a happy ending. Beside, this book remind me ofThe Hollow. Don't you think?

Vincent can't be gone , idc. There cannot be a new book without Vincent it just defeats the purpose of the trilogy. I dont think anything big will happen between Jules & Kate because they're both loyal to Vince. I just hope they find a way to get him back and kill Violette.

I don't think he died...He has to tell them where he is through Kate. My theory is Kate may also be the champion, because she can hear Vincent-when he is volant-, and wasn't affected when Vincent went in her(in a way she also killed Lucein), and she can also see the numa.

Why on earth did Vincent die? i have half-a-mind to insult Amy what was she thinking. It’s one thing to leave your readers in suspense and another to make them an emotional mess at the end of the book. And why on earth is the third book being published next year? Someone please answer my questions!

it's being published next year because amy is still in the process of writing it ;)

also, i believe she wanted to 'shock' us, make the series interesting and leaving us with an urge to want more, which i actually believe is interesting even if i was a wreck at the end ;)

Someone mentioned how they thought Kate was the Champion, and I agree with you! It seems like a good twist. Like, when Violette realized that Vincent wasn't the Champion, she kept him alive because she knew Kate would come rescue him.

BUT IF VINCENT DIES... I WILL DIE TOO.

I am just hoping for that Vincent its not really gone to spirit world and that some how for some reason Violette didn't kill him. I really really hope this series doesn't end like another immortal series that a read not long ago and they kill the guy and after that it was just bleh. Cant wait for the other hope and crossing my fingers that Vincent will be there back and not in a floating spirit

Kate being the champion could be a good twist, I have always thought since reading that book that she is kinda this special human that see herself apart and not feeling part of the rest but fit good in with the kindred so maybe she either ends dead and one of the kindred or she could be something else like the champion. On Vincent death i think that violet has not destroy his body yet and thats what I am hopying for

I'm confused though. How was she suddenly so sure that he was destroyed? She was all I'm so going to find him and then oh look at the flowers in the water, and then omg he's gone! I was like how does she know? If she really heard his voice in her head 1) he is really dead and roaming in volant form 2) he is reanimating and in visiting her in volant form.

vincent is NOT dead the only way to permently kill a volant is to chop of there heads. so dont worry peeps kate and the others will find vincents body and all be ok (i hope)

i don't think he's dead because in the end she hears his in her mind. i think they realised his not the champion kate is so there keeping him alive

******MY SPOILER THEORIES****

I love these books and Amy Plums writing style, The books suck you in.
I agree, what an evil killer cliffhanger! And an agonising wait till the final 3rd book!
I have my theories just like you all. I am praying and hoping that Vincent's body is still alive!
I hope that Violette finds out in time that Vincent is not the Champion and spares him, and that Kate's gut instinct that Vincent is dead, is so wrong!
I think that Kate is waiting to be a Revenant and could also be the Champion! My reasons are:
#1 Kate manages to persuade Jean Baptiste to enter the house, where she finds Vincents dead body in D4M.
#2 Her strength for emotional pain and physical fights
#3 That she can communicate with Vincent, though Vincent has pushed the envelope out on this one too so may not be entirely her!
4# Kates endurance of Vincents possession of her body.
I know that anyone can have these qualities of the Champion though there are hints in both the books that point to Kate!
And Gwenhael also told the Numa that the champion was the revenant who killed the last Numa leader. Now i know that Kate isn't in a Revenant body, thought what if her genes were wired for her to become one?????? As it was her who physically killed Lucien!!!!
Also the 3rd book is titled "If i should Die" What if this refers to Kate and becoming a revenant? And what if that's how they work it out that Kate is a revenant and possibly the Champion?
On Amy Plums FB page she did comment that if you read closely you will have some answers to the last book!
Lots to think about, It could go anyway! Lots of whats, ifs and buts! 10 months till book 3 - and counting! Also there are more Vincents points of view coming out on the paperback version of UID! (If any of you haven't read the extras on Amy Plums webpage, go check it out!)
Finally - I really really hope Vincent and Kate have a happily ever after x x x x
