Sgt. Mattingly walks the walk in being a man of faith. Like Job, John could be bitter and curse God for all of the sorrow he faced, but his faith never waivered. This book opened my eyes even wider to the dangers of the mainstream media's grip on our country in spreading outright lies and how those lies can spark the fire of rioting and other violence. Words aren't violence, but they sure can help start violence. Until we decide to wake up and challenge those lies with the truth, there will be other stories like John's. How do we do that? Research, investigate both sides of a story before you decide to act. When you do act, take a note from this story and act in truth with the love of Christ on your mind. If we love our neighbors as ourselves and forgive others, messes like this would most certainly decrease.
