This book is The Rattled Bones by S.M Parker it is about a girl named Rilla Brae, her grandma, her boyfriend Reed, her new found friend Sam, and a mysterious unknown sea creature that keeps calling for Rilla to come to find her. This book starts off with a sad tragedy, and that is Rilla’s father passing away which means Rilla needed to step up. They live on the coast of Maine so fishing for lobster is pretty big there. So Rilla’s dad owned a boat for lobstering and now she has to pick staying in Maine to lobster fish to have money to pay bills for the house her and her grandmother live in or going to her dream collage that she has a scholarship to witch is the University of Rhode Island and could go to college for whatever she wants. Then she comes across this little island off the coast a little but that is where she meets. Sam is a college student who is trying to discover the devastating past of this land called the Magnala island. Plus on top of that, there's this creature that keeps calling Rilla with this intraging song “come here, come here my dear my dear” It's coming from this creepy sea creature and Rilla thins this creature is related to the water people which took her mom away (her mom went to a mental hospital).
S.M Parker is really good at intriguing you into the book. She is constantly adding new little stuff and details to continue reading. Like when Sam came around and Reed finally met him and reed was making fun of him and then they almost got into a fight. Or when Rilla went onto the island with Sam but it was only Sam and Rilla out there alon then Reed came. Once again Rilla got into a fight with Reed and stuff almost went down. Or when the scary creature comes along and you don't know what's going to happen or what the creature will do to Rilla.
This book is great. I would definitely recommend it, because it is intriguing, scary, and very great to read. If you really like mysteries it just continually pulls you in. You put down this book all you want to do is pick it back up again. This is a must read 10/10 after this S.M Parker book I am definitely reading another one of her books. ...more "
