"44% is 347 pages. I feel like I've read 2 stories already and cannot fathom how there's 400 more page. Interesting premise, but extreme in places, was only staying to see how werewolf #3 would get integrated
I'm exhausted by the ups and downs, hardcore kinks and rough behaviour. 100% grateful that it's bedtime. Not sure if I will have enough strength to tackle this tomorrow or ever.
This book is way too long." — 12 hours, 33 min ago

"This hockey romance is about 30 year old adults which makes a change from college students. It is mellow despite the heavy themes of emotional abuse of a spouse. Anyhoo, one thing I can't abide is the dual POV cross over. The beginning of each chapter is told from the other main character's perspective and repeats the last minute or so of the previous chapter. Which is unnecessary and deeply irritating." — Apr 29, 2026 05:10PM

“Failure is a feeling long before it becomes an actual result”

“I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”

“What have I become?” I whispered. Shacking up with a criminal. Doing unsanitary things in a baking environment. This wasn’t like me. “I’m not even wearing any underwear!”

“I’m sorry, but I don’t think that’s a good idea,” she whispered before clearing her throat. “These feelings we have for each other were so sudden, and the way we met was very… unique. But it doesn’t mean we should entertain this. I mean, how do we know we didn’t just get whisked away by the unexpected passion of a hostage situation?” My jaw threatened to crack with how tightly I clenched it. “Whisked?” “Yeah, whisked. Like… Like we’re a bowl of egg whites trying to be meringue, you know?” No, apparently, I didn’t know. Sadie sighed quietly. “It’s a lovely thought, but we’re not egg whites, Dav. And we’ll never be meringue.” I pulled the phone away from my ear and stared at it—wondering if I’d had a stroke—before putting it back. “Say that again in English.” “Don’t get me wrong,” she said. “The last couple days have been like a fairy tale—well, one involving an alarming amount of blood. And instead of a princess in a tower, there was a man locked in a shed. But some time apart will give us a better perspective. For all we know, our feelings are the result of Stockholm and reverse Stockholm syndrome.” I closed my eyes. This girl would be the death of me.”

“Vince’s eyes meet mine over Sofiya’s dark curls, and the raw love I see there nearly brings me to my knees. This man who has killed without remorse, who has built and destroyed empires, looks at his daughter and wife with such tenderness that it fractures something inside me.”
