I’m re-reading this book for the first time in years and I’m starting to notice that this author only writes as if the only “correct” BDSM is MASTER/slave 24/7 dynamic. This is WHOLLY INCORRECT. Correction - SUBMISSION does NOT total subjugation, there are many, many, many types of BDSM and this information should be appropriately explained. If you are new to the dynamic PLEASE fully research and don’t get involved with someone who believes they have the complete right to treat any in the manner he’s described. It’s about CONSENT, TRUST, & COMMUNICATION! You don’t have to have such rigidity even in a 24/7 dynamic. Also not about “serving” as he keeps telling her. It’s more so the submissive’s desire to please the Master, Sir, Daddy, or Mr. — yes Dom’s can have different honorific names and still be a stern dominant. This “Dom” is a sadist, though not in the way they are sometimes depicted.
