“کم‌کم تفاوت ظریف میان نگه‌داشتن یک دست

و زنجیر کردن یک روح را یاد خواهی گرفت

این‌که عشق تکیه‌کردن نیست

و رفاقت، اطمینان‌خاطر

و یاد می‌گیری که بوسه‌ها قرارداد نیستند

... و هدیه‌ها، عهد و پیمان معنی نمی‌دهند

و شکست‌هایت را خواهی پذیرفت

سرت را بالا خواهی گرفت

با چشم‌های باز

با ظرافتی زنانه و نه اندوهی کودکانه
