I'll grant this book three stars for the effort to give us the whole picture, and for the author's obvious passion about getting the story out. I can understand why it sold so well; I bought it on a visit to New Orleans when I wanted to learn all I could about Katrina, and after the terrible event there must have been an even more intense desire to hear the story. But I so wish Brinkley and his publisher had taken just a little more time to let editors get their hands on of this mess! The mangled grammar, the tortured and incongruous metaphors, the non sequiturs, the repetitiveness! The history compels me, but the writing repels....more
