"I’ve devoured the audiobooks of this series at a far faster rate than I’ve updated Goodreads but suffice it to say I’m thoroughly obsessed with Emma M. Lion and am so sad to be nearing the end of what is currently published" — Jan 01, 2026 07:11PM

"okay so i think I kinda like how unhinged this is-would not be surprised by anything happening & that’s kinda the whole premise of the cupboards?
But also dang do these take a turn quickly violence wise😳 not anything out of the fantasy genre norm, but might be a bit startling for younger middle grade readers I’m sure (I was reading among the hidden in elem. school though so man idr what’s normal lol)" — Oct 19, 2025 06:40PM

“You can be whatever you want to in life, as long as you don't become a critic. Not of other people and not of yourself. It is so easy to be a critic, any coward can do that. But art does not need critics, art has enough enemies already. Art needs friends.”

“It might sound like an unhappy ending, but only if you forget how many times during this story we've told you that someone laughed. How many really good now's is that?”

“Hawkes began slowly. “It takes a great deal to trust the future after one is acquainted with loss.” “It feels impossible, for longer than is comforting. And then too tentative to trust.” “It does. But it seems that sword pierced Christ so that we always have a future. Even one different than planned.”

“It will,” Wit said, “but then it will get better. Then it will get worse again. Then better. This is life, and I will not lie by saying every day will be sunshine. But there will be sunshine again, and that is a very different thing to say. That is truth. I promise you, Kaladin: You will be warm again.”
