OMG!!!! Kora Knight, you woman, are simply f**king amazing!!!! What you have done with the story of Max and Sean was brilliant. I have always had a soft spot for these two men and that spot just grew even bigger. I loved, loved, loved this conclusion to the story of Max and Sean. you took me on a journey of self-discovery and love that just warmed my entire heart. i must admit, I did shed qite a few tears throughout this one, so yes have those tissues close by. this would have to be one of the most intense books that I have read for quite a long time. The emotions felt from beginning to end were enough to keep my head spinning - but in a good way.

Having learnt the background of both Max and Sean in UNEARTHED, Kora now brings us their complete story, present day with no flashbacks. max is still a solid brick wall, a man who has closed off all of his emotions so that he can't be hurt once again, like he was in his past. The walls that he has built are thich and strong and almost impenetrable - I do say almost. He still retains the belief that if he has these walls, he is self-protecting, but really he is self-harming, he shuts out the one thing that he so secretly and desperately desires - love. Sean on the other hand, still remain a bundle of energy - he is his own energiser bunny. He loves Max and he fights in the only way possible to see that Max's walls are torn down - he showers Max with affection. Even though they remain in a Dom/sub relationship for "training purposes", it is obvious that there is definitely something more there.

Slowly Max begins to heal from his past, but at what expense? Does he leave it too late to recognise and realise just who and what has been hiding under his nose all this time? Or will he set free the one person made to be his partner in life - his soul mate? Max's journey of discovery is not without its hiccups, along the way the will be heartache and tears - but what else would you expec from a man who has always tried to remain so stoic and strong in his beliefs. Sean, I love this man, he was the absolute wpitome of a man in love. never taking "NO" for an answer, constantly testing Max with his PDA's and his silent challenges. To watch hi go through the heartache that he did was soul destroying. everone needs a Sean in their life, his love kows no bounds.

What can I say about the HOT, STEAMY, FIRE BURNING intmate scenes that Kora has writen in this book? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!!! They need to be read to be believed. Each scene touches on a level of intimacy that had me constantly fanning my face and wishing I was right there too. Max, the Dom is a sight to behold, but Sean being allowed to show a little fraction of hi own dominance was perfect.

It was wonderful to catch up, once again, with Tad and Scott. It was good to get an insight on how their relationship was progessing - miss those two boys!!! Kora also brings Jay, Ned and Jonah into the story - they are really good t providing the side gags that are needed when things are getting serious. What will be interesting to see, in Kora's next book, will be the relationship between Breck and Kai - something is definitely going on there. Those two have me totally intrigued.

The Black Dungeon Duology was the perfect companion to The Upending Tad Series. Once again Kora Knight has written about two beautiful men and the love that they both deserve to have.

FIVE STARS most definitely......but if I had my way, it would be so much more. ...more "
