I take a deep breath to try and relax before reaching for my phone, which is resting just beside my pillow. I am a bit puzzled by the name on the display. Lauren. It’s an old co-worker. Why would she be calling at 5 a.m.? It doesn’t matter. I’m just glad to have someone to talk to. Anyone will do. Accepting the call, I summon my cheerful work-voice. “Good morning, Lauren!”
