Something I adored was the past and present chapters. I loved that we could see the characters and especially Harriet in different places where she obviously grew up and lived some significant change. All her happy and not so happy places <3
Regarding the group of friends, I absolutely LOVED seeing their dynamics ! Harriet and Sabrina literally found their family and this trope was well done here.
I could relate to so many things regarding the friendship because I am myself really close to my group of friends, especially from high school. Reading this book made me think of the ten days at the beach we spent last year and how fun and perfect these days were to me. I could also relate to the fear of this ending one day, as me and my friends may not even be able to spend a few days altogether this summer despite our will.
Moreover, I think one of my favorite chapters is the 32nd when Wyn and Harriet fight. Firstly, because their fight is cute but also because it shows the importance and the goods a fight can have. In this case, they both expressed their minds and didn’t hide their emotions. It was sooo healthy !

On the other hand, it took me a surprisingly long time to get into the book (probably the first half). I think it’s because I wasn’t in my usual reading environment aka my room but I still have to confirm this theory.
Also, I didn’t fell for the characters as fast as I did with Nora and Charles from Book Lovers.
I did not find any charm to Wyn before the last 200 pages of the book, and I couldn’t figure out his personality from the beginning.
Harriet also is pretty indecisive which I am absolutely not (until it comes to rating this book lol). I’ve never been the kind to put off a decision and I know what I want most of the time. Indeed, I related more to Cleo or Sabrina than Harriet.
Moreover, I feel a little like Wyn and Harriet’s relationship ended because of miscommunication. It’s not the whole reason but a part of me can’t help thinking that if they both had been honest and blunt with each other, their relationship would have worked out fine. Obviously, I know they needed some time apart to work on themselves. As you can see, I am conflicted with myself here lol.

To sum up, Happy place was not what I expected, and I am both agreeably surprised and a little disconcerted. I expected to like it more, but it just didn’t hit the spot from the beginning as it did with Book Lovers and Beach Read.
Anyway, I can’t wait to read EH next book ! She’s not done surprising us (and me) yet !! ...more "
