"I needed to come in and update this. I can't find a photo of the author anywhere, I get like anonymous authors for privacy purposes, but something smells wrong on this one... While the book is good so far, it's missing... Biases... Personality, and soul. I'm wondering if this is an ai written book and the publisher is testing the waters with ai self help books. 😬 I guess I'll keep reading." — Mar 24, 2025 10:02AM

“This, I was taught growing up, is what we are called to do: to try to mimic Christ, to love generously, even at great cost. Even when people don’t deserve it. Even when they hurt us. I was taught to pray, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” And I was taught to speak the truth. I was taught this, and much more, by evangelicals.”

“As long as you keep secrets and suppress information, you are fundamentally at war with yourself…The critical issue is allowing yourself to know what you know. That takes an enormous amount of courage.”

― The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma
“Being trauma informed must include respecting and honouring the fact that what is learned from the experience of trauma is a kind of knowledge, in the same way that what we learn about trauma is knowledge. In both cases, what is known is contextual and deeply nuanced.”

“聪明一世,糊涂一时. Intelligent and cautious for a lifetime, it takes a second of stupidity to unravel it all.”
