I love getting emotionally invested into books, and let me tell you, I threw this book across the room at least twice. This was so fast and addicting, I read it in a day. I don't know why but I love love love books about mentally ill teenagers, and feeling sad about the characters etc. Anyway this broke my heart into a million pieces !!

Freshman year was so heartbreaking, my poor baby deserves the world. Sophomore year might just have been my favorite, at first I was a little skeptical about Josh, but I ended up loving him so much. The age gap was crazy though, and my heart broke when all that got flushed out. Junior year made me sob, her coping skills just hurt my heart. I loved Senior year also, but it was so depressing, one thing I noticed that made me cry was how she starts calling her parents by their first name. That little detail speaks so much. Also the Josh reunion meant everything to me. They are so precious I cannot wait to read The Way I Am Now, to get the continuation of their story. If they don't end up together, I will be very upset.

There were so many times in this book where, when something bad happened my response wasn't to cry like I would normally, but instead I got so mad. When ever Kevin showed up, I had steam coming out of my ears.

Eden was so lovable, and she really took me through so many emotions. I could never ever hate her. I will defend her until I die. Even though sometimes she would do something that would make me mad, I still understood her and will never ever blame her. Her trauma was so well written out, but this definitely has a ton of trigger warnings.

All in all, I adored this book. It was phenomenal. I was so attached to the characters, and the book flew by. This is obviously such a difficult topic, and it was dealt with so well. I can't wait to read the second book. Also Josh was perfect. No notes. I was obsessed with how he just understood her. UGH they are my everything. ...more "
