"There's an early chapter where the ancient wizard is teaching the young, brash noble about the history of the empire. It's a long and boring recitation of past rulers from a lecturer who is far too enthusiastic about such a boring topic. I can't help but draw a comparison to those who have repeatedly assured me with fervor that this series is excellent.
