Whether you are a fan or not , or never read Michael Ondaatje's writing, you will find intricate weaving of the story just as captivating as his other works. The plot, the characters, as they develop their personalities, and the ending remind me of his The English Patient. Several novels over the past couple of years may have similar WWII storylines, but, this is classic Michael Ondaatje. I love how he slowly develops his characters, especially in this novel. Enjoy!
