When I stumbled upon coaching, I quickly realized this was a different and far more effective way of helping. Rather than tell people what to do, I helped people tell themselves what to do.
“We have delegated authority to establish His Kingdom wherever the sole of our foot treads. But while God calls us “kings,” the degree to which we walk in that position is still a matter of potential. And God is not responsible for making us reach our potential. It requires our participation.”

“The notion that “our thoughts are not His thoughts” is an Old Testament statement about a rebellious Israel whom the prophet was beseeching to repent (see Isa. 55:8). To the obedient Christian, that statement should be changed to “Our thoughts are His thoughts.”

“Jesus lived as a supernatural man. Although He is God, He divested himself of His own power and authority and operated under the anointing of the Holy Spirit, just as we do. Our goal is to become like Him. It is the relationship we have with Christ in the Spirit that opens us up to the revelation and experiences of the supernatural. It is only the transforming presence and power of the Holy Spirit that enables us to walk like Jesus did. To walk in the Spirit is to have a relationship with Him. This is why I believe relationship is preferable to realm in thinking about the kingdom of God.”

“M ANY BELIEVERS LIVE WITH the concept that God will lead them when it is time for them to do something. So they wait, sometimes for an entire lifetime, without making any significant impact on the world around them. Their philosophy—I have a red light until God gives me a green one. And the green light never comes. The apostle Paul lived in the “green light district” of the Gospel. He didn’t need signs in the heavens to convince him to obey the Scriptures. When Jesus said, “Go!” that was enough. But He still needed the Holy Spirit to show him what was at the forefront of the Father’s mind.”

“We need all five of them, working together. In short, apostles govern, prophets guide, evangelists gather, pastors guard, and teachers ground.”
