"There’s a lot of detailed and sometimes graphic trauma descriptions thrown the readers way. It’s jarring and I almost always have to pause to manage the whiplash and my own reactions to reading such heavy things. This isn’t a negative or a positive, but an observation. I haven’t read many books on trauma so I’m not sure if graphic depictions are common in such books." — Aug 16, 2025 11:51AM
