"“… Once I start a book I finish it. That was the way one was brought up. Books, bread and butter, mashed potato – one finishes what’s on one’s plate. That’s always been my philosophy.”" Jul 21, 2023 11:46AM

One of the moments that resonated most with me in this book was this story, where the author wrote about how she was having “a physical response to an emotional problem.” I had that happen to me this past summer and about 7 years ago when I was dealing with infertility. It is so mind boggling to hear that your heart palpitations or whatever is happening is not something physically wrong with you, it’s your body reacting to the stress it has been under for too long. It’s still hard for me to believe that when it happens, but hearing someone else go through a similar experience helped me understand mine, and was timely for me as I was starting to feel those physical symptoms creep back up on me just before reading this. Soooo, even though I didn’t love this book, didn’t like how it was written and most of it didn’t speak to me, I’m still glad I dabbled in it because clearly part of it was something I needed to hear.
