"Decent. I started this series in college, which was much closer to the time of this book’s printing, but never finished it. It could be improved if Dr. Brown was a Catholic. Foundational for deep messianic prophecy studies. Honestly, many objections Jews bring up could and have been brought up by gentiles. The only Jew-specific ones are the ones dealing with Jewish history and tradition." Sep 18, 2025 06:27AM

“David was a man after God’s heart because he was a man who understood God’s heart and sought to protect the heart of God. You cannot protect God’s heart until you intimately understand His heart.”
Chaim Bentorah, Hebrew Word Study: A Hebrew Teacher's Search for the Heart of God

“When a sieve is shaken, the husks appear; so do people’s faults when they speak. The fruit of a tree shows the care it has had; so speech discloses the bent of a person’s heart. Praise no one before he speaks, for it is then that people are tested.”
Book of Sirach

Albert N. Martin
“Conversely, the first step into any sin, when there is a definite inducement to sin, is the eradication of our sense of the immediate presence of God. Think about it. Many of the sins we commit would be prevented or stopped by simply the presence of another human being. If you are having a spat with your wife, what happens when a fellow human being, not even necessarily a Christian, comes to the door? The presence of another person is enough to check your words, and suddenly you can become very sweet. Or you could be cheating at school and think that nobody sees you. As soon as the teacher stands over your shoulder, however, you stop. Why? Because of the presence of another person. What effect would it have on us if we had an all-pervasive sense of the presence of God? We see what it did for Joseph. It kept him from sin. God’s”
Albert N. Martin, The Forgotten Fear: Where Have All the God-Fearers Gone?

“To love God means that we are totally dependent upon Him for everything, like a baby with its mother. Finally, to love God means that no matter what our situation, we will declare it “home,” as God is right there with us.”
Chaim Bentorah, Hebrew Word Study: A Hebrew Teacher's Search for the Heart of God

Wilhelm Röpke
“In spite of its alluring name, the welfare state stands or falls by compulsion. It is compulsion imposed upon us with the state’s power to punish noncompliance. Once this is clear, it is equally clear that the welfare state is an evil the same as every restriction of freedom.”
Wilhelm Röpke
